Cruise control switch replacement???
My ‘79 needs a new cruise stalk switch. The job looks daunting. Need step by step instructions, as my Haynes Manual is devoid of info on the subject. Help!

Should be something about it there |
I know the standard turn signal levers just pull out. They don't feel like they will, and I was skeptical, but that's exactly what it took. Make sure to confirm what it takes for a cruise lever, but I just wanted to throw this out for reference in case it might help. Sorry, I don't have any experience with a cruise lever.

C3 4ME got it right- the lever just takes a little wiggle and pull to get it out. AS far as the wires go, unplug under the dash and tie a stout piece of string on the connector- it has a small hole in it. Work it up thru the column and out. tie the string back on the new one and work it back down. Not easy, but IMHO easier than tearing the column down if you don't have to.

Sounds simple enough. At least I won't have to pull the steering wheel. Now to find a new switch assembly.......
Thanks. |
