1989 Starting problems
My 89 Corvette which is in original condition and has 66,000 miles on it has recently developed a problem. It starts right up when cold but is difficult to re-start when warm. I recently added the recommended fuel cleaner to a tank of gas but otherwise, I've done nothing. Appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Codes? Tune up?

What's your fuel pressure? Does it reman steady after you turn off the ignition? For how long?
Do you still have the original OEM Mutitech fuel injectors? If so you need to get rid of them. They do not last with todays 10% ethanol fuel. What kind of fuel tank cleaner did you use? Had a similar problem with my '89 and replaced the crappy OEM injectors, ran great after that. You may also have a falty distributor module that doesn't work properly when hot. Check that as well. |
Thanks for your responses. No codes. No, it hasn't been tuned in a while but it's driven less than 1000 miles per year. With those potential issues, I guess I'll have to get it checked out professionally.

You have multitech injectors. No experience since my 87 has lucas injectors
Take a look at some of these videos they might clue you in on what's going on. https://fuelinjectorconnection.com/pages/videos All the notes I've seen they treat people right. |
