Stingray Chevrolet in the Tampa area
Anyone had any experience with their service department? Do they know their stuff? Been experiencing some slight vibration when I'm driving on the highway so I'm taking my 2015 Z51 for them to diagnose. The service tech told me all it probably needed was a transmission flush. I've had some bad experiences with some service departments who couldn't even change the oil properly, so I'm hoping this service department is good. They have a lot of corvettes and camaros so I'm hoping they do.

If you are having a vibration like driving over rumble strips on the highway at low RPM with an auto transmission at a steady speed you may have the have the transmission shudder issue that many have experienced. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...er-update.html. If so, the Tech is right, a trans fluid replace could solve the problem.
I've been to Stingray to buy parts, given their size and how many Vettes the have sold I would put good odds on them really knowing the car. |
They've had my car a week and a half and haven't touched it yet. Apparently the transmission guy was on vacation, and then got sick. I was sixth in line so I doubt I'll see my car before mid July. Oh well.

Wow, that sucks, How could a place that big have only 1 trans guy???

The good thing I've heard about Stingray is they have roll-over or beneath the floor oil change pits vs. lift oil changes.
I approached them last year when shopping for my new 2019 Z06 as I wanted to order one with certain specs. They effectively had no interest in working with me and instead kept pushing me towards their existing stock, even though I told them the M7 & Z07 package was a must. |
