C4 of the Year -- Stock, No modifications
For Corvetteforum’s C4 Corvette of the Year competition we have some big changes in store to make the competition more inclusive and, we hope, more fun for site users.
The changes include opening the contest to site users across the globe, rather than limiting it to residents of the contiguous United States. Further, we’ll break the competition down into four categories:
The reward in each of the categories is bragging rights and a designation under your user ID declaring your winning status. This thread is for entries of Stock Corvettes with No Modifications. You can enter just one of the categories of competition and you do so by posting one photo of your C4 in the appropriate thread no later than 11:59 p.m. PDT, July 15. Moderators then will pick ten of their favorites as finalists and set up a poll to allow you to vote on which of those finalists is the C4 Corvette of the Year in each of the above-referenced categories. The judging, of course, is subjective and will be heavily influenced by the quality of the photographs submitted for the entries. In subsequent months, we’ll feature other generations for Corvette of the Year with the winner in each of those generations competing for Corvetteforum Corvette of the Year. The fine print: One entry per member. This contest is open to site users over the age of 18 who own the car they enter. Cars which have previously won are not eligible. Entry photos must have been shot by the Corvette's owner except in the track car category where the Corvette has been photographed on the track while the owner was driving it. |

This is my stock 1990 I which ordered and have owned ever since:rock: |
My 96 LT4 CE with red interior. 54k miles. She won't be stock for long.

My '87. I've owned it for 20+ years. 45K miles.

My 1988 Z52 G92 is as about as stock as I can get it. After an NCRS Second Flight a few years ago (in the Netherlands) this year it received an NCRS Top Flight (in France, by the UK and Colorado chapter). I just really like how they came out of the factory. But although it is NCRS it isn't trailered everywhere; it has 161.000 miles on it and counting. |

@savewave: Are tinted windows a deviation from "Stock" or no? Tint changes the appearance from stock so cars with tint should go in "Corvettes with Appearance Modifications", yes?.

My '96 down by the water
128K miles on her and I don't think she looks it at all. Only put about 1,000 on myself since buying it last fall. Took this the first time I'd had the top off.

Ok, there's a tie for first. What happens now?
Obviously, I'm not impressed by this forum's participation...I'm talking about all generations because we don't know how many view were from other generations OR from outs. Personally, I went to all generations -- looking for these contests (and noticing they aren't all going on simultaneously). Where I found them I voted. Why? It was hard to look at the lack of participation and think we can't even appreciate each other's car, accomplishments, etc... I don't get it! :confused2: |
:iagree:, First my thanks to CF for allowing all the categories this year. Second thanks to all who posted their C4 Corvettes all of them are winners and show their love of this fine America sports car.
I have to agree with GREGGPENN on this one for all 3 category's 115 votes out of 3253 views and I would bet most the votes in every category were the same CF members. I would also bet more of the members would reply to an I hate C4s or C4s were the worst Corvette made thread. |

I have definitely seen some of the hate towards the C4 and sometimes it does get a little annoying. I do love mine and would not trade it for anything. So here's an article for a little encouragement to my fellow C4 owners... https://www.autotrader.com/car-news/...errated-261608 |

So here's an article for a little encouragement to my fellow C4 owners... https://www.autotrader.com/car-news/...errated-261608 The linked article makes a lot of good points, none of which I disagree with. Oddly, though, even that article covertly threw L98 owners under the bus! :crazy2: I didn't take any of it personally because my L98 is significantly modified anyway. It's got way more torque than a ZR1 and nearly the same HP. Like the author of the article, I like the C4 looks...and even customized it for more emphasis. I chose to stick with C4 looks (via modification) rather that swap up to a C5...in 2010. Not sure I'll ever sell for the purpose of upgrading to a newer Corvette. There's a lot to be said for owning a car, getting to know how it works, appreciating what it has/had to offer, and kind of treating it like a marriage. No reason it can't be appreciated now as much as then. |
