Help me out with this dude trolling the C4 on CF front page

Must think he is a better person bc he hates on c4’s.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/articl...tant/#comments

honestly. This is why , other than c4’s, I dont like corvettes. Even the exotic car crowd is a nicer, less judgemental group than many ‘new’ corvette owners.

Face it, any idiot can get a loan and buy a new corvette then act like they are a superior part of society.

jimduffy 07-02-2019 11:43 PM

Yup so agree lol like see them to hold on to there vette for 20 years .

puterami 07-03-2019 09:12 AM

Interesting, I've never been able to see any comments from the front page articles. Including this one.

Why do you care so much? Is your entire self worth tied to what people think of your car?

corvette bashing on a corvette website weakens /fragments our community.

If this was the mustang website, and someone said c4’s are ugly....sure it’d go in one ear and out the other.

If you knew me , you would know that my car hobby is probably 5th on my list.

It doesn't weaken/fragment anything. It's one guys opinion and likely exposes him as a troll. You seem to be obsessed with any comment that you perceive to be derogatory to the C4, from some magazine article to a comment made at cars and coffee to cheap Chinese parts for an icon. The C4 platform has been around for over thirty years and was a great car in its time. It's old and there are million of them still cruising around, some not in the best shape appearance wise. Don't get butthurt if everyone doesn't worship at the C4 altar, as do you!

Paul Workman 07-03-2019 10:32 AM

"The trouble with wrestling with a pig is you both get dirty, AND THE PIG LIKES IT!

Truth is where you find it. And, the truth is, the C4 Corvette was revolutionary; ahead of its time. It is so very capable of performing in so many venues, and doing it well.

Is the C4 eclipsed by newer Vettes? Let's hope so! But, I say that 90% of Corvette owners never have driven their cars to the edges of the envelope, comprehensively. For most of those mouth bone-heads, the !/4 mile is the be all measure of a car's performance, and they're unable or unwilling to acknowledge the Vette beyond that.

Beyond that, there's the SCCA and the Corvette Challenge cars of the late 80s and early 90s that dominated to the point the SCCA excluded the Corvette from competition because it won all the events. And, long as records are being kept, the FIA world record for endurance-speed (for a production car) is still the record set by the C4 Corvette ZR-1.

Until recently in the last few years, HANDLING was seldom mentioned in the same discussion with Corvettes. If anything has pushed Corvette to the mid-engine platform, it is the erosion of the Corvette's prowess in the twisties: Camaro, Mustang, and even the Demons have come to the bar to rub shoulders with the Corvette. So, in my way of thinking, the current front engine platform has reached the end, far as revolutionary performance advances are concerned. The obvious next step IS the mid-engine platform, a platform that will stand apart from the reborn muscle car crowd for evermore, me thinks.

Lately, the crowds gathering to oogle and take pictures have shown a growing interest in the C4 Zs. Lots of questions, and still a crow pleaser. So, taking all of the Corvette generations in consideration, exploring and taking the time to become educated of the changes beginning in 1953 to present, the progression line from the beginning to present is steady and continuous with only a few potholes along the way. And, if anything, the C4 amounts to a significant rise in overall performance in the line of progression since 1953. Let the record stand. The C4 has noting to be embarrassed about or denigrated for either.

Are you referring to Camden Vanderhorst? That's who your link directed me to and
the guy is an automotive journalist and writes positive articles on the C4.

What "front page"?

Anyway, l have the far superior C5 so l don't give a fat rat's ass........................:hide:

Don't let it keep you up at night... I never did quite understand the whole " C4's are ugly" angle. I had one and thought it was pretty hot looking. Although I now own a C6 and C7 , I'd still like to add another C4 into the mix some day. Who cares what some other Dbag says about them? Oh and BTW... not every "idiot can get a car loan for a new Corvette". Have a nice day..

John A. Marker 07-03-2019 11:05 AM

My first Corvette experience was riding in a C1 at about 10-12 years old. Second was in a hot C3, again as a rider. Always wanted on and when the stars aligned I bought a 85. Ended up building an engine for it and still have fond memories of that car. Bought a 95 then a 2006 and now have a 2018 ZO6. Within the Forums here, there is a lot of C4 bashing which I have never understood. Each generation was an improvement on the generation before. You would not have the C5, C6 and C7 without the improvements thru the C4 generation. Some just don't want to see the history of this icon. I love my ZO6, but there is still a longing to have the 85 back.

I disregard the haters. Most of them have the head up their ass and want to feel special because they have a "newer Corvette". All generations still get a wave from me.

I clicked the link, and read the article. I don't see "bashing" at all. Maybe the link got fixed? Or the OP is the troll.

BubbaKahuna 07-03-2019 12:00 PM

meh ...

Polo Vert 07-03-2019 12:34 PM

If I had $15,000 to spend on a toy, we all know the C4 is still the best bang for the buck. That kind of money will get you a very nice LT4, or if you are lucky, a clean ZR1 with some miles on it. Most of the people who bash C4s have never even been in one, much less owned one.

RetroGuy 07-03-2019 12:52 PM

Opinions? We don't need no stinkin' opinions!

Let it go...most opinions are like A$$ HOLES, everyone has one and they all stink.

I am already rich. No need for Vegas. Vegas is a gamble. I used common sense and hard work.
