Cleaned her up for the 4th

Just a few pics to celebrate the red, white and blue today. Got to work and did some detailing. Also in the spirit of Indepedence Day... probably the best "family pic" we ever took... a couple of years ago. My TT C5Z06, my son's C7 coupe, and my daughter's SVT Lightning. Now they are all grown and moved out.

Salute to our troops and veterans for willingly standing in the line of fire to keep us free and safe "Home of the free, because of the brave":flag:

Matt... love the True Blue!

Yeah, I had a white '99, and a Dark Shadow Grey '04 (which I sold to my son, when he was old enough to drive... replaced it with an '05 Ram SRT-10... the Lightnings are better, IMHO). Then found this red '00 with 30k miles on it when my daughter was learning to drive. Neither of them have those trucks anymore, but as crazy as this sounds, they made for excellent first vehicles. Great sight-lines, above average brakes, and _single cab_ meant no hauling multiple friends around... less distractions, more focus on the road, and capable vehicles. Both mine stayed completely out of trouble with those things. Horrendous mpg, but I didn't care. Gas is/was cheap. So was insurance.

Beautiful. How's it running after the second round of mods? Notice a big difference in performance?

Yes, it runs fantastic. Absolutely stock-like drivability with the cam we chose. I would post an idle video I took, but it is in mp4 format, and the site doesn't support that. I can email it to you, if you'd like. But, low-speed, low-load drivability has not been affected, as promised, and it makes 100rwtq more at 3000rpm than it did before. Much, much flatter TQ curve. Makes 680rwtq from 2500-5000rpm (707 peak at 4000) and over 600rwhp from 4500-6800rpm redline (711 peak at 6200). Have done one 4th gear pull from 90-150 and it is crazy.

I also owned an 01 Silver Lightning... Sold it w 178K miles...

sorry to derail your thread... I am NOT a FORD guy at all.... The Lightnings are the only fords I have ever owned... I think I will buy another one at some point....

Cannot wait to see, hear your car tomorrow....

Those SVT Lightnings were a blast to drive. Nowadays it's a bit antiquated and people barely bat an eye at 390HP, but when it came out in 2000, it was an absolute animal!

Not the best video quality but here is the one I took Wes. Sounds great in person, and really sounded good when you revved it but I didn't get a vid of that. So deep and much more refined than mine which is just straight racecar loud lol.

And here is a pic I took. Good meeting you this weekend.

Thanks for the pic and vid, Dave. Great meeting you, as well.

I know Matt got some vid of a couple of quick revs with my cell phone, but it is .mp4 and not supported here... and given I'm illiterate when it comes to tech stuff like that, I have no clue how to convert it, or else I would post it. LOL

Should be able to easily upload to youtube with the youtube phone app. Then when you copy the link in the address bar just take the "s" off of https: so it is http: and it will embed the video.

Let's try this:
Thanks for teaching the old guy how to post vids. :)
