Hey, good work Lowes. I haven't seen that before.

And, RWR, thanks for your service. :salute:

Just added them in Sarasota

IIRC Hy Vee grocery store also has Veterans parking. Another thing for Lowes, found out recently that they have a Veterans discount available. Don't know if it applies every day but I signed up for it last week, we'll see what develops on that front.

Quite a change from when I got out of the service. Back then you had a better chance of being spit on than recognized for doing your service to the country.

Well done Lowes and every other company that recognizes Veterans for their service to the country.

Very cool.

I'm not sure if its a company wide policy, but the Lowes here in Grand Junction, CO also parking spaces reserved for veterans.:flag: As hcbph mentioned the appreciation for veterans today is a far cry from the reception they received coming home from Nam. Every day should be veteran's day. Without their service and sacrifice, the US we enjoy may not exist.

I posted this because they just started here in Sun City👍🏼

Surprisingly common here in Jersey. We also have them for purple hearts.

Thanks for you service!

Here in Montgomery, Alabama, too.

Semper fi!

Home Depot in my area has the same courtesy. Snap a photo of your DD214 on your smartphone, or carry a military ID card, and you'll get a nice discount at check-out!

Got love Lowes they also offer a discount on everything in the store to vets , good luck finding that at Home Depot they only offer it on select items.

Huh?? I've never failed to get a discount on 100% of anything I purchase. You have a very strange HD, or this is bull!

And they never fail to thank me for my service!

Just bought roofing supply's, was told no discount on it.

corvetteronw 07-09-2019 06:08 PM

Home Depot where I moved from three years ago also had that discount for all Veterans (Grand Rapids, MI).
I am now in Arizona and my local store clerks tell me they can get fired if they give this discount. They told me that corporate policy says it can only be given to retired Veterans who possess a brown (retired) military ID.

Good for Lowe’s! Haven’t seen those parking spots around here yet. I rarely go to Home Depot anymore. :flag:

My local HD does it on everything. And their prices are about 10% cheaper than the lowes directly across the street for most things from the start. My buddy is their manager for that chain... I should ask him if it varies by region.

I was told the same thing. Discount does not apply to "bulk" products, wood, roofing, really anything in the building materials. When we bought our dishwasher they gave us 10% on the first $200 or 20 bucks off on an $800 dishwasher.
Lowes it applies to everything even sale items. But for Lowes you need to register then you can use your phone number at checkout. I called customer service and they showed me how to add the discount to pick up orders online. One time setup.
