C8 at NCM
Does anyone know if the National Corvette Museum usually gets an example of a new model soon after it is revealed? I was planning on stopping there on my cross-country drive the first week of August and would love it if there was a C8 on display.

I hope so. I'll be passing through there the last week of July.

Unfortunately as of right now the only time we will have a C8 on display is during our 25th Anniversary Celebration August 28-31. Outside of those dates we have not been promised a car for display. Registration for our event closes on Thursday so if you'd like to come be sure to sign up!

Strange they would not leave one at the museum.

I was hoping to stop coming back from Nashville on the 20th.
|
Will the factory tour be opened up after the 25th NMC Anniversary?
|
At this time, no they are not planning to be open for tours. But if that changes we will be sure to notify registered participants.
|
We will be stopping by Aug 9 on our way to Florida, just to make sure you don't have one sitting around somewhere :D
We did our Buyer's Tour and NCM delivery just two years ago in May (one of the last days to do a buyers tour) for our 2017 Stingray vert and the NCM guys, (Shane) and girls (Lori) were great. Thanks again, Jim |
The NCM will soon have R8C cars to look at.

NCM 25th anniversary event and DOZENS of C8's...
Well from the crowd at the NCM this last week/weekend, I assume ALL of you were there.. more Corvettes and people than at any other event at the NCM than I can remember, more than was at the Grand Opening (based on my old memory).. and many Corvette development engineers were there, and each apparently driving a NEW C8 ... dozens of them on the grounds, both being displayed for the corvette public, but also in the parking lots, etc. I haven't been interested in a new Corvette in many years, but this one... sorta flips me overboard... :) I also had a nice conversation with Josh Holder, assistant chief engineer in function to Tadge Jeuchter, and that talk pushed me totally overboard with the C8.

I went to the Museum early on Wednesday morning the 28th and they actually were driving in and position the drivetrain test mule car - the infamous one wiht the red emergency button on the dash - a 2018 model. I did ask when he thought they would be getting a "real" one and he said as soon as someone donates one
