I don't like shiny. Looks too greasy to me. I like a dark satin sheen. I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on just about everything under the hood. In fact, I use it on all the cowl plastics, windshield and window trim, and the rear brake ducts,

I used to be with Fyr on the 303. In my use currently Sonus MotorKote does a better job. Love the 303 for interior though

I haven't used anything but CD2 Engine Dressing but have heard great things about Sonus Trim & Motor Kote and Meguiar's Hyper Dressing.

I have a gallon of Meg's Hyper Dressing and matching 32oz spray bottle with a 3:1 dilution ratio in it. The Meg's is my go-to dressing for the tires on my daily driver, as I spend much less time detailing it versus my Z06. I can quickly spray the Meg's and wipe it around the sidewalls with a microfiber applicator or towel. Easy, peasy. However, it isn't very durable. I tried it at 2:1 to increase longevity, but it looked too shiny for my taste. I used it under the hood of the Z06, and I think the engine heat kind of evaporated the Meg's quickly. That is why I switched to the 303. Seems to hold up to the heat much better, and gives a much less-greasy appearance. Just kind of dark and "new" in appearance.

The Sonus will give you that same "like new" not greasy fake look as the 303 but will last a bit longer. I'd send ya some to try but I need to re-order myself as I went thru a ton over the holiday weekend. The one thing I do is change the bottle to a Flairosol bottle. Much better atomization that the heavy droplet sprayer that comes with it. I also works wonders in wheel wells. I did apply to the plastic surround cladding of a Cherokee over the Holiday. It was in decent shape and just needed a quick polish ( topped with CanCoat-and the flake was popping out ). I'll be getting it back every month to maintain so curious to see how it hold ups in that environment. I's a SOWA product.

$10 per bottle at AG. I may just wait for the next 25% sale and grab some. A couple of the reviews claim it is a little blotchy, but I may try it anyway.

The blotchiness comes from too much product. The sprayer sucks. I have a "product sample" truck in my driveway. I don't drive it anymore but test products on it. I'll take a picture of the wheel well's a did a year ago on a 16 yo 160,000 mile vehicle. Granted it doesn's go anywhere but you can see the finish. 2 keys are clean surface and different sprayer

God knows I have plenty of sprayers available. And a clean surface is never a problem over here. LOL :lol:

This an area that. I could use some help on. I just ordered some. My engine is very clean but i think this is going to be just what I need.

Clean it again before you apply it. Spray a light even mist over everything. Do not spray so heavy it runs but enough to flow out. I can't recommend enough another sprayer. Let sit for at least an hour. you can apply another coat

I'm also a fan of 303 aerospace protectant, its not cheap but you get what you pay for

Alright, guys. Yet another small 25% off order from Autogeek arrives at my door today. Yamabob has seduced me into trying the Sonus "Trim & Motor Kote". I will apply it around my engine bay, cowl, and rear brake ducts and share the results. All those areas are currently protected by 303 Aerospace Protectant. For the heck of it, I grabbed a discounted bottle of Stoner "Trim Shine", which I have also heard great things about.

Geezus, I really need to stop trying every product under the sun. :crazy: I have enough stuff to supply a detail shop. These are the current rubber/vinyl/plastic protectants hogging space in my garage...
