C8 at this time to reveal vs C7
 

Hi All,

I could not help wonder with this many days left to the C8 reveal how does it compare to the C 7?
What I mean is what was the Camo for the C7 showing a week or so before the reveal, what were the latest renderings showing, one week or so before reveal and how different was the final release? Anything major or big surprise from renderings?

Point being, latest Camo C8 does seem very trimmed down but many feel the car will be very different and is hiding a lot from the superb renderings by Chaz and First and others shared.

Anyone remember to get a sense on how much surprise factor is left, or perhaps not much surprise left?

For C7 reveal Jalopnik leaked the entire exterior (I believe for the Z06 version) way ahead of time, and GM had already announced preliminary numbers and information on the LT1.

I think at this point the only real surprises are going to be trim details and specific options. Anyone hoping for a big surprise or something radically different from the renders is going to be disappointed.

Uggg was afraid of that. If back of car /blue picture leak is real, mark me as disappointed.

Me too - looks exactly like a Camaro. WTH?

The big difference is that we never saw the C7 in the camo wrap other than some very blurry spy photos of track testing (purposefully blurred in GM's teaser videos). We really only saw bulky padded camo. However, Jalopnik blew the lid off way early (2011) with their artist rendering of leaked photos. The car was a narrow-body Stingray, but it had a few Z06 features on it... so it was most likely pics of a clay model or something as they were developing the Z06.

Very rarely it was seen in wrap... way less than the C8 has been...

With this C8 we've seen WAY MORE of the car in very thin camo wrap with only very subtle padding. We basically know what the car will look like other than fine details. The fine details matter, but there will be no big surprises at this point.
