That's right...1964 Split Window. Unique "Frankenstein" car. 63 Corvette body on a 64 chassis with a vintage 1962 327 engine. VIN and title are 1964. Garage find in 2016 (it was in a house I bought). This car was covered with blankets and untouched since 1976. The owner bought it from an auto body shop in 1974 after a tree limb had fallen on it. The owner of the auto body shop repaired it by replacing the hood, roof and whole rear clip with a 63 Corvette that he had on the lot. The bill of sale from 1974 was in the car and I found the auto body owner who remembered the car, verified his signature on the bill of sale and verified the story. The guy who bought it in 1974 had it painted white and drove it sparingly for two years before putting it away in the garage in 1976. I got it running and driving with many new parts...distributor, wires, plugs, brakes, exhaust, tires, wheels, interior, etc. The car was then rear ended while I was sitting at a red light.. I had it professionally repaired and completely repainted to its original Daytona Blue (courtesy of the insurance company) by a local Corvette expert. It's a 4-speed basic Stingray (no power options). It has the original AM/FM radio. Everything works except the clock. Running down the road it look exactly like a beautiful 1963. Not a scratch on it. A true driver.
