I have to hand it to GM Authority. They are the masters of rehashing old news into hot "leaks".

Twin turbo V8 :smiliedrool:

Just going to say the same thing. This article provided absolutely no new information, rather just a summary of the current rumors. Plus it rehashes that it's a version of the blackwing, but with different induction system, heads, and block... Is that still the same architecture?

captain vette 07-13-2019 06:41 AM

That motor look like the Blackwing

capevettes 07-13-2019 07:36 AM

Very exciting, but just seems to be further confirmation of what we already know about the twin turbo going into the higher horse variant (Z06). Exciting times and a good reason to be patient

rob62 07-13-2019 08:27 AM

Patient? Ha, as if we have a choice.

BIG Dave 07-13-2019 08:56 AM

GM (non) Authority.

BTW, have you guys ever seen my SS? It's a version of the C7....except it's 4 doors, different chassis, different brakes, different transmission...but it's got an LS3 in it just like the....C6....oh, wait....

Anybody else notice on the picture that the intercoolers are BEFORE the turbos? Pretty sure that won't work very well, I'm betting that a fake pic.

The inter coolers are the purple things on top of the intake. It is A2W so they are usually placed as close as possible to the intake, or are part of it.

Don't think so. The IC should be after the turbo & before the throttle body not after it. Think its a bad drawing. Purple thing look like a plenum with the throttle body at the intake tube & feeding individual runners into the head.

Yeah, it's click-bait.

Anyway, a TT V8 is a logical choice for the C8 Z.
Hopefully, it will be small displacement engine.

Yeah, that makes more sense, plus would utilize same A2W style they've been using since LS9.

You are mistaking the air cleaner (blue) as the intercoolers. Intercoolers are air-to-water and purple.

FWIW, GM Authority is the most reliable source of info on current, new and future GM vehicles. They’re the first to have info and images on vehicles like the new Chevy Trailblazer/Encore GX , the CT5/CT4 twins, the XT6, the upcoming Escalade/Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon models, and Cadillac’s upcoming coupe. They just SUCK at reporting info on new Corvettes and Camaros. I think that’s more of a showing of how well GM prevents leaks about the Vette, but GM Authority is not even up to date on what has been leaked.
