Will the C8 brake pads have the brake dust problems like the C7?

If so I will be ordering low dust brake pads and have them installed at delivery.

How in the hell do you expect anyone to have an answer to that question at this stage of the game?

The C7 only had 'problems' for the show n shine waxers anyway. I'm perfectly ok with cleaning my wheels more often if it gives me a better feeling, grippier brake pad.

sure, why not?

kratedisease 07-14-2019 12:23 AM

Silly Rabbit, the dust comes from global warming and NOT from the pads,

Anything bad is cause by global warming !

Only a problem if you want to stop.

OEM pads are a compromise between feel/bite, noise, temp handling, decent life (get out of warranty). Dust isn’t even on their radar.

that said, there are awesome options in the aftermarket for pads with decent bite and low/no dust.

I can tell you that my C8 brake pads cause brake dust just as much as the C7 does.

I gotta say my C7 ZR1 doesn’t have brake dust.

D.

I swapped my C8 pads out with EBC's newest and have no problem with brake dust anymore.

No, the C8 includes “brake dusters”, which is a system comprised of tiny vacuums installed in the cooling ducts. :D

Satch0922 07-14-2019 08:42 AM

my Z06 z07 had ceramic rotors and little to no dust. I assume that is the pad used.

:iagree: (Fixed your post,)

It will probably have the same problem of having to replace rear tires often - I will be ordering lower horsepower/torque and have them installed at delivery.

See Post 3.

Does the OP wish to performance stopping or ability to stop only for car shows?

Some of these threads are really getting ridiculous.

These C8 posts continue to get more and more stupid.

AORoads 07-14-2019 10:28 AM

depends if you want it to stop 3 feet shorter, which would put the front end into, oh, about the B-pillar of the car in front....
