Popular engines and specs through the years
 

I found this "IT STILL RUNS" article to be quite interesting - far as the history and specifications, especially when focusing on the Chevy SBCs - over the years.

One glaring eye-roller "spec" in the 283 ci section said the engine featured an overhead cam and overhead valves...which is never did (at least not from GM). But, aside from that one glitch, it made interesting and a historically factual exam of GM engine development in the years leading up to and beyond the C4 era.
