C7 GS Convertible vs Coupe luggage space
How does the luggage space in the C7 GS convertible with the top up compare to the coupe with the targa top on? That question assumes the luggage is not blocking the rear window in the coupe. Thanks for your help.

You have plenty of space:
I have the C7 luggage which is a 40 liter duffel bag and std size carry-on roller and there's still space for a hanging suit bag on top and even more space behind the partition if top is left up. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...cff54e105e.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...b497b4057.jpeg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...be3dfb944.jpeg |
With top up and partition down, I have had 2 carry ons, wash stuff, small cooler and 2 collapsable nylon chairs in mine for a trip to an event. There was a little room left for things that were able to be "formed" into the available remaining spaces. Way better than my old C4 Vert and we always got by in that.

I wanted to buy a convert, but couldn't. We have a bare minimum of items we have to take on our trips. I took them down to the dealership and couldn't get nearly all of them in the convert. Damn! Fit just fine in the coupe. I prefer the styling of the Convert.

Room in the Inn
Friend bought a huge pro tour type golf bag. It wouldn't fit in the trunk of his convertible. It would fit in the passenger seat area. But then his wife wouldn't. And she refused to ride in the trunk. So she stayed home. Always spatial compromises eh?

IMHO, don't buy a Corvette based on the amount of luggage, etc. you can carry. Buy the style you like the best. Where there is a will, there is a way. Just take the suggestions here from both style's owner's, and you'll be fine.

We did a "practice pack" for the Caravan - shoes, microfiber duster, first aid kit fit under the partition, each bags holds enough clothes for 7 days, camera bag and cleaning supplies. Camera equipment and cleaning supplies will be pared down for better fit, leaving a little more room.

https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...09879a7c94.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...c8dbfba72a.jpg We do a 1700 mile "snowbird" trip south and back each year. We do the trip in three days and the car is "stuffed" with the partition down so we don't usually put the roof down during the trip but on occasion I can unload enough luggage for a evening top down cruise. This came out of the trunk of my 2017 Grand Sport. |
The coupe has a luggage capacity of 15 cu ft. The convertible has a luggage capacity of 10 cu ft.

Get the convertible if you like that version better, and worry about what to take on a trip later. For longer trips (over 7 days) we pack so that we can put the top down until we get to where we are going, but once there and we unload thing we can cruise around the vacation area with top down all we want. And for trips where we want to go top down on the way there we use duffel bags and we have plenty of room.

This is one of the biggest misconceptions out there (almost an old-wives tale). If you want to look out the rear window, then there is zero practical difference between a coupe and a vert. Now the next fun fact: the coupe with the top off has much less practical room than the Vert with the top down. |
If your moving out of your Home,Apt. or Condo rent a U-Haul

They have exactly the same amount of space for luggage!

The OP is looking for facts and truth not just an opinion based on personal feelings. My packed full coupe doesn’t block the rear window view. This past weekend I was comparing luggage space between coupe and vert with a friend who owns a C7 vert and there is a huge difference in space available. We all have our opinions and likes and dislikes but let’s not that get in the way of truth and facts. |
The coupe has objectively more storage space than the convertible C7s do. It is what it is. Therefore, my car (the coupe) is for road-trips, and my wife's (vert) is for weekends, when it cools down a bit!

We travel and carry our golf clubs with us. We own a SUV but we bought our Corvette to drive and take on trips not leave home in the middle of Summer. |

Personally, luggage capacities don't really matter to me because if going on an extended trip I have more comfortable and spacious vehicles to drive than my Grandsport Vert. I just don't care for all the miss-information you hear from coup owners about how there's no luggage space in a C7 convertible because it totally false. The vert has plenty luggage space for two adults on a 2-3 day trip. And even longer trips if packed wisely. |

I agree that's the GM listed luggage capacities, however that 15 cu ft in the coup includes hatchback area from carpet to glass, and does not include space behind truck partition in vert's 10 cu ft.
