Will the frunk hold my walker?

I like to drive with the top off and I assume it takes up all the storage in the trunk. Anyone know if the frunk is deep enough to hold my walker?

kratedisease 07-25-2019 10:00 PM

depends on what type of walker you have......

if you have the square quad aluminum one with the cut open yellow tennis balls on bottom of each leg, it should fit fine.

BUT, Just know that mobility scooters like the rascal will not fit into the trunk.

There is also apparently aftermarket safety grab handles that can be mounted inside the Corvette cabin, but currently they are only made for the C7 models.

I feel the rest of the world will make fun of this name, frunk, as the rest of the world call that a boot...

Cowboys Wear Boots... LOL
Its a Frunk on a Tesla too.
I hearby Ban the Term "Boot" from all Corvette Conversations, let's give that term the Boot

OP, I hear it should fit Luggage of some type up there, so could be quite possible

Chevy says the frunk will hold a carry-on suitcase that fits under an airline seat. The maximum dimensions allowed are 24 by 17 by 10 inches, so if your walker doesn't exceed those dimensions, it should fit. The top fits in the runk (rear trunk) on a diagonal, with the brackets for the top on the front partition, so your walker would have to fit under the top - which probably isn’t very likely.

It is sad that you can't have hardly anything in the trunk when you store the top.

Is it bigger than her?

Oh that sucks! Very disappointing. Can’t road trip with the lady with that crappy space. Lot of sacrifices to own this car.

Doubt it will hold my K-80 in the Americase. Or ANY of my rifles. No Range or Sporting Clay course trips for this car.

Though the cases WOULD fit in the passenger seat area! And plenty of room for ammo, spotting scope, tripod, etc in the rear storage area.

Problem solved.

BahamaTodd 07-28-2019 01:01 PM

There's a good chance that the rear trunk will stay usable in the convertible with the top down. So no need to deal with the targa top and you get both trunks.

50MileSmile 07-28-2019 01:08 PM

The main section of the “convertible” top is actually a hard panel that flips upside down over the engine as it opens and stores, similar to the way a couple of recent Ferraris have worked. It doesn’t appear to extend over the rear trunk.

Wow

Go to the 23 minute mark of this video and it shows a girl sitting in the front. Seems pretty deep to me

Lets make sure the ZO6 has a hitch and towing package!!!!!!!! problem solved!!!

Skid Row Joe 07-28-2019 08:12 PM

From the looks of a woman climbing into the C8 front trunk? I've gotta say no. I don't hold out hope for the C8 rear trunk compartment either. Sorry to say.

I think the C7 convertible trunk would, however. If you don't retract the convertible top.

It can be done without too much difficulty. Just as the C7 can handle a Class 3 trailer hitch. All day.....

The front trunk will easily hold two roller carry on style bags. One on top of each other. What it does not have room for are the upright tower poles of even a small walker.

The front trunk looks to have room for at least 4, maybe 5 cases of 12oz. beers, iced down. Wonder if there's a drain plug for the water? ;)

The rear trunk? Maybe. He'll have to do a try at a Chev. dealer.

50MileSmile 07-28-2019 09:37 PM

The only photos I’ve seen of a carry-on bag in the frunk showed only one will fit - with a loose item or two on both sides. There’s definitely not room to stack two carry-ons. Have you seen something different?
