Power mirrors are manually controllable!

I know this question was asked a lot earlier but I hadn't seen any answers. Not sure if this video has been posted (I haven't seen it) but notice that he is driving with the mirrors IN then switches them out manually?! Garage parkers everywhere share a collective sigh of relief!

Yep, but with actual reliability unlike German engineering!

The power folding mirrors were one of the things that didn't break on my Audi

Zymurgy 08-08-2019 02:56 PM

That's how folding mirrors work on other GM vehicles that I've owned. A switch on the door folds/unfolds the mirrors at your request.

(We hope)

CPhelps 08-08-2019 02:59 PM

That's how they work on my Tahoe and my wife's Silverado

Redc8z06 08-08-2019 02:59 PM

They are also suppose to close when you lock the doors. Which might be a good thing in a parking lot when someone walking by takes out your mirror. :ack:

Some cars need them. Some cars don't. The C8 is so wide that it needs them, just like my 1999 Silverado. Otherwise, they wouldn't fit in the garage. Audi had them in 2000? Oh, wow. I guess I should be impressed.

Better late than never, in my book.

How else is the OP expecting power mirrors to work?

That is why you need the power folding ones only available on 2 and 3LT. 1LT is manual. OK if you have a passenger.
Oh and then you need the optional lift unless never have to deal with speed bumps steep inclines etc.

I think he thought that they only folded automatically when doors are locked.

That would defeat the purpose. You need to mirrors folded BEFORE you enter the garage, not after you are parked.

Maybe controlled by GPS. Lol.

Docbrock 08-08-2019 03:54 PM

I like those wheels.
