There will not be a C8 Spyder
This is because the word "Spyder" spelled with a "p" is owned by Audi an can only be used for a car owned by Audi, such as any of the Lambos. Furthermore, I would be shocked if Chevy calls their C8 hardtop convertible a Spider. That is just way too Ferrari. There is nothing wrong with calling it just a Corvette C8 convertible.

What happened with the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder?

Toyota MR2 Spyder :topicclosed:

For the most part, with Spiders, I flush 'em down the toilet. Unless they look like they might be really good eating, with the addition of some leftover Taco Bell hot sauce.
Is this a new trademark or something? There have been several cars from other manufacturers with "Spyder" in the name, such as my Toyota MR2 Spyder.
Maybe they'll call it the Corvette RF or Corvette PRHT if Mazda will let them! :willy:
It could be that if Audi owns "Spyder", then other manufacturers may be paying royalties for the use of it.

Congratulations! You win the Clickbait Thread Title of the day award.

Nominee for most useless thread of the day...although as usual there will be stiff competition.
Any proof of the Audi "Spyder" trademark?
Also, please look up the word "pedantic"
Yeah but we don't need no stinkin permission !
There is likely no Spyder trademark or Spider Trademark. The first Spider was a tall two seat horseless carriage with minimal cargo room and a fabric/leather removable top. We have had Corvair Spyders and many other Spyders, but the first “Spyder” was a Porsche.
With a handful of exceptions, all Italian cars are Spiders, not Spyders. This is because there is no “Y” in the Italian alphabet. Most all non-Italian cars use Spyder. Go C8 Spyder! |
More brain damage....
