Ceramic coating over Xpel ???

I know Xpel has their own fusion ceramic coating but you cant buy it and do it yourself. Does anyone know of a ceramic coating that is safe for use over the xpel film. I'm sure some guys may say just have the installer do it but one I like to do some stuff myself and two its really expensive after just paying for the film.
Also any recomendations for a quick spray wax to safely use over the xpel too.

Thanks in advance!

FWIW, Suntek Ultra has a top coating and does not need a ceramic coating.

I used this on my wife's new Acura MDX after having Xpel applied to the front end. Looks great!

I agree...I could be wrong but it seems like to me that ceramic coating over EXPEL might have an effect over the self healing properties that EXPEL has. I am curious if it would or not...any experts out there that could shed some light on this???

Xpel will not repel water (hydrophobic), using a ceramic coat on top of it will make the car easier to clean.

I am curious if you couldn't use any sealant (Wolfgang, etc...)...Ceramic, professionally applied, is $$$$$ on top of $$$$$ for the PPF.

That's exactly why Im asking. professional install of the ceramic is $$$$$ so I wanted to do it on my own. I may try the suggestion above About the Adams ceramic coating. Just wanted to know if there were anything to avoid when picking an aplication.

Yes you can. I use whatever I use on the paint. The newer PPF have clear coats and a good wax or sealant works great. Ceramic seams like a waste of good $$$ over PPF IMO.

:iagree:

Talked to the factory rep for Xpel a couple of years ago, and he recommended any good ceramic coat or finish.

Ceramic coating will not affect the self healing properties of Xpel. The coating very thin.

I have mine ceramic coated over film and it works great. Very easy to clean. Also installing ceramic is fairly easy. Watch some youtube videos. I have ceramic pro installed by a shop on mine but I have used R1 ceramic on about 12 cars now and everyone loves it. Usually takes me a day to prep and coat a midsize car with R1.

Thank you for choosing XPEL PPF to protect your Vette! While we don't have a DIY Ceramic Coating we recommend, we do recommend however, to use our XPEL Ceramic Boost Spray on top of your PPF as a good maintenance product. In fact, Ceramic Boost can be used on glass, bare paint, and on the wheels as well. This is the best product to maintain and enhance your PPF and Ceramic Coating.
