C8 Scissor Doors

Who wants them ? Why didn't Chevy just do them factory ? Who thinks they will show up on the Z06 or Zora/ZR1 ? What would a conversion cost ?

I think you guys are discouraging participation in this thread....

Someone will probably offer a kit eventually. You could do the conversion if you like, however I predict resale value suffering.

No doubt on the resale... I can't imagine too many people objecting if they came from the factory though...

That would be like trying to sell a house with a swimming pool. People who want a pool would love it, but people who hate pools will look elsewhere.

EasyLivin 10-08-2019 08:29 AM

I have to admit that they would be cheezy on a C7 or earlier gen vette but they wouldn't look out of place on the C8. Also, it's pretty tough to look like a bigger douche than the guy rolling slowly through Cars and Coffee with his scissor doors up...:ack::rofl:

Perhaps GM considers it a safety issue. Makes it more difficult to extract occupants from a car that's upside down. ;)

awful.

LilNutSac 10-08-2019 08:39 AM

Ewwwww. No.

vetteLT193 10-08-2019 08:50 AM

I'd like them for practical purposes. The doors are big and long, difficult in tight spaces and the garage. Doors that go up are certainly easier in those places. I'd never do an aftermarket swap but if GM did it factory it would be very useful

Steve Garrett 10-08-2019 09:04 AM

I would like them, especially for the C8. It will never happen as long as Tadge is there. He told me at the Birthday Bash in front of a room full of people that he's not a fan of scissor doors.

Vette_Pilot 10-08-2019 09:05 AM

If the engineers can figure out how to do it then maybe!!! :D

EasyLivin 10-08-2019 09:11 AM

hahahaha They're going to do them on the C9 and make our C8's worthless...:lol:

Don't need the doors, you can always play douche opening and closing the spyda.

Garret 10-08-2019 09:32 AM

It won't happen, too much money and to keep the corvette cheap they can't/won't do it. Actual innovation means money and the corvette crowd wants cheap :)

That's the first mod I'm doing!!! Lambo doors and then I'll put Lambo badges on it

Is that to say that only door opening like this are cool?

Jinx 10-08-2019 10:02 AM

Does the fob have window controls, so you can slip in without opening the door after some water buffalo parks too close?
