M7 tranny fluid

I have a 2014 M7 Z51 with about 30,000 miles and I want to change out the tranny fluid. Is Redline D4 ATF a good choice or should I stick with what GM recommends? Thanks.

Redline D4 is vastly superior to the factory fluid. You'll be quite happy with it.

Thank you Kracka

Agree. In my C7 & used in my C5 for years

Definitely change to the Redline D4. Much smoother shifts.

Same here. Used it on my c7 stingray and now on my c7zo6. Redline is the way to go.

What makes Redline vastly superior to the factory lubrication?

Bill

High-quality synthetic vs. conventional grade generic ATF.

I have no idea if it’s superior in any way but I do know my Z06 shift much smoother with it, my Land Rover Defender 110 shifts much smoother and with it, and my Toyota Land Cruiser (Auto trans) shifts much smoother with it.

OEM fluid. Visit the Tremec website for info.

I've swapped for Redline D4 ATF based on recommendations here. However, I'll be in the minority group that based on subjective feel OEM GM is better. On my next change I'll be going back to OEM GM fill.

I too just changed to Redline D4 ATF, haven't had a chance to drive it yet.
I ran the car on my lift, the shifts were way better.
Now lets see how it is on the street.

I too agree GM OEM fill gives me the best shifting feel. Been through this circus on the f-body, C5, C6 and C7.

How much do you need to do a fluid swap in the M7

I think 7.4 pints is the spec. You'll have a little left over from a gallon jug. Be sure to have the car nice and level then pump it in until it just begins to trickle out from the fill opening.

I did D4 with 1qt MTL mix, it is better than straight D4
