63 coupe door window sweep

I had a 65-67 sweep as mentioned in a previous post.
I now have a 63 sweep
Picture below
The 65-67 sweep had 6 screws and "I think purposely bent and drilled into the 63 door molding to make sure the screw holes were in the meat of the door
My question is, now that I have the correct door rubber sweep, is the rubber swaled at all or is it straight from outside screw to outside screw?
(The 63 uses staples between the two screws)
Enclosed is the "swaled" 65-67 rubber and the new rubber

So what I am asking is, should I be stapling the rubber straight as a dye onto the swaled molding as shown? Thanks for any help in advance

I’ll post some pics of mine when I get home in an hour or so.

Here is what I did with my original 63 coupe "sweeps""

First pic above is what I found on the original pieces, as you can see the original rubber was canted up the slightest bit on the ends.

The second pic the stripped piece, and, the third picture what I finished up with. I went straight across but it made zero difference on the assembled door.

HOWEVER, I did not use the overly thick, repro rubber seal, I tried to but it was going to possibly make the screw heads scratch the side windows. Instead, I used some household door sweep rubber from Lowe's; its much thinner. more pliable and lets the windows roll up/down like a breeze but provides the same seal - and, it passed regional judging....this is an end view of the stuff installed.

Yeah, I know, there is a special place in NCRS hell reserved just for me.

Does anyone know if these were SS or chrome steel on the 63 coupe.? I polished one of mine and it looks like I went through the chrome. I thought they were SS.

Hmmm...not sure at this date if they were stainless or aluminum but I for sure don't think they were chrome.

They are stainless. I drilled holes slightly bigger for wire as opposed to staples and its definitely SS
Strange that these sweeps tend to bind the window at the top of its movement. I am going to give it the college try though, I have come to far doing bolt by bolt to stop now.
So will put it in straight which when in still looks tipped, but, its tipped toward the back of the door and not tipped to allow water onto the power window motors, so I will go with that.
Thanks
