Best clutch for 4+3 w/406 motor?
I have the stocker in now and it dslips under max dumpage, so I imagine a better clutch is in the cards. While the motor is out is probably the optimum time to do a swap.
Go easy on my budget, looking for a better replacement witout breaking the bank (anymore than it has been already)! |
I'm sure you're making tons more torque than I was, but I was super happy with my Centerforce Dual Friction. I think it was $345 with the T/O bearing. I just had my flywheel resurfaced for $35 and put it in. Pedal effort was EASIER than stock and it held great even dumping it at 5000 RPM. The car makes 439 ft/lb.

Check out the Spec lineup as well. Their Stage III unit is what you're looking for with the carbon-kevlar pucks. People tend to bash them for prior quality control issues from way back, but their new stuff is damn good. You should be able to pick up a complete assembly for < $500.00. That'll give you enough holding power for up to and around 500hp/tq. :chevy
