Npp vacuum hose
 
Hello all, I pulled the fuse for npp and the usual service traction and active handling appeared.fuse back in all goes away.
Besides getting a npp controller can you just pull vacuum hose from exhaust valve and plug up therfore valve stays open? Commonly used for Porsche and others. Sharkworks exhausts even send plugs when getting their systems

I believe you can remove and cap off the small hose on the back of the intake manifold and they'll stay open. At least that's how it is with my Z06, had to reroute that hose with the MSD manifold.

Yes, pulling any fuse will usually cause a code. I meant pulling vacuum hose off of npp valve in back and plugging up hose to prevent debris going in. Solenoid won't even know thus no codes and wide open valve. Done many times on 911 Porsche

Yes, that will work, but I personally don't like plugging the vacuum line there. It will work fine, but at some future time a vacuum leak may develop in that line, and it will be difficult to find the leak or even know why your engine is running so poorly. Because of this, I think it is better to plug the vacuum port at the intake manifold.

I plugged the port at the intake manifold myself without removing the manifold from the engine. Here is a thread describing the process. If your hands are larger than medium-sized, you probably won't have enough room to do it.

If it's like a ZR1 then I'm guessing you pulled the wrong fuse. I've never heard nor experienced that issue and I've pulled the NPP fuse many times....never once a dash light or message. :nono:

Yeah you shouldn't get a code from removing the NPP fuse. Many people, myself included, have a switch that essentially disconnects the fuse when we want to run the valves open all the time (same as removing the fuse) and never throw a code.

Pulling NPP fuse should not cause any codes. Mine have been pulled off for more than 9 years, no codes.

I agree with others here, that pulling the fuse shouldn't cause any codes, so thinking you pulled the wrong fuse. I never had any codes when I pulled the fuse. It is the red #10 fuse on the lower right fuse panel in the passenger floor board.

are you sure you're pulling the right fuse???
