Finally!! My first corvette

Finally!!! After 14 years of grinding, saving and luking on forums I now have my first vett. 2009 z06 32,000mi, 568 rwhp. I drove it from Bakersfield CA through 2 snow storms, & torrential rains to Allen TX. Its hard to contain my excitement.

Glad you were able to realize your dream. Nice looking car!!
And, it didn't melt from getting rain or snow on it..

Good looking Z, Congratulations.
I just picked up my 1st as well last month, but I flew east to Naples Fla and drove it back to Houston.
How did it handle in the snow?

Not great..traction control must be off to go anywhere. I shoved 100 yards of parking lot at the Days Inn at 5am just to get out there. Cold start and a cammed z06 for those poor people in the hotel. I had to wake the dead to go up the small hill.

Congrats. The only time my 07 has seen ice or snow was on the drive home from Museum Delivery to Houston 16 years ago. Didn't like seeing ice hanging down on my new baby with 400 miles on it.. Don't get much snow down here.

Beautiful car. Pleased to hear you got it home safely. Enjoy.

We trudge on.

LAMO

The lengths we go to achieve our dreams. cammed z06 in the snow now that had to be an interesting ride. wonder if it had summer tires on it too LOL. Sorry to laugh but I was stressing just the other week of having to drive mine to the dyno tune in the snow. I lucked out and the snow hit the day after.

Congrats your gonna have a good year

That’s awesome! I just bought my first in Feb. flew from Denver to Minneapolis and drove it back over the course of a day and a half. Somehow in early Feb my route was completely clear the entire way. Talk about luck. It’s like it was meant to be. ;-). Great ride BTW! Mine is a ‘13 GS 60th edition and I couldn’t be happier.

Congratulations!

gorgeous car. What a way to get into Vettes, both with the car (power and beauty) and the driving conditions. I'm sure you got some much needed On the Job Training driving it home!

1bdvet 03-17-2023 08:07 AM

Enjoy your new ride on better days, and weather, beautiful ride!

449er 03-17-2023 08:11 AM

:iagree: get it home & clean it up immediately

Wheels55 03-17-2023 08:19 AM

That's one for the history books. Will likely not forget the experience any time soon and will be a good story for years. Welcome & Congrats on the great ride.

81VETTOM 03-17-2023 08:24 AM

Welcome to the insane asylum.

It never seems to fail when you get a new ride that the weather does not want to cooperate. If you had bought a new 4 Wheel Drive Truck I bet the weather would have been balmy.

Congrats and glad you got it home.

Landru 03-17-2023 10:28 AM

On going nightmare's getting stuck w/ my Z when a snow storm strikes.
Fortunately, just a bad dream.

BIG congrats on a beautiful Z, and, surviving your drive home.

cadyshac 03-17-2023 10:44 AM

OP you got a LOT of 'vette there for your first, congrats! And not to steal your thread but you bought it in Kalifornia? How does someone have such a modded modern car there with all the laws/restrictions they have in place?
