I wish I knew more about how/who these lap times were done and the car prep. 3+ seconds slower than the current 911GT3 is very disappointing on a 1min 49 lap. Of course the 4 major "catches' the driver had to do didn't contribute to a great lap time. I am sure it lost time with the 5th gearing, too on the main straight. One second up on the BMW?
3LZ too, with the added weight. Hopefully it was not a HTC with another 100# |

Looking at the video the conditions must have been miserable. The C8Z from what I've seen has pretty good grip, but the driver is fighting it literally the entire time here. Either the track was damp or the tires were well spent.
I wouldn't put stock in those times being relevant for anything. The 765lt slower than the 720s? There's modded 911s on the list as well. Based on other footage of the Corvette I can't see it being "just" as fast as the Huracan and only a second quicker than the M4. |

The GT3 has a performance kit and the Z06 is Euro spec (636 horsepower and 439 lb-ft of torque versus 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft for the US), so that undoubtedly made a difference. Wondering if they used a Z07.

The pictures would be nice, I guess, but since I do not speak or read German, the explanation would still be unknown to me even though the "information" would be there..

^Presuming the above is stock... you may have glanced over this one and right to the MR kit. |
This comparison would be relevant if they used:
1. the same driver for all cars 2. lapped on the same day / weather 3. comparable tires 4. counted the best lap out of 5-10 laps If they didn't it is not a valid comparison. :lurk: |

When the numbers are in the z's favor most of you claim it as gospel, but when they aren't the excuses are fast and furious..
I'm visiting Toronto in August. Love the city but I hate the hotel rates. I like the Z but being on a list to buy one is a bit of a joke. These comparisons are baloney. Run 10 identical Z06s on that track with different drivers and weather variables and it will yield 10 very different times. Just saying... :) |
Is it me or does that particular car sound lazy after the upshifts? Could be just the audio.
Speed in 5th looked like 159 mph or so, not slow. Sounds like the driver is pedaling it. Would be nice to see throttle opening, brake application, and G's. I would think that temp would help lower the lap time unless the driver went out with tires cold. |

My z purchase experience is laughable at best.. going on 3+ years and still no line of sight on an allocation, let alone a delivery date... now that's baloney! Agreed . |

The only relevant excuse IMO is the Euro spec.

The only way to prove the track capability of the new Z06 is taking the car to Nurburgring to set a lap time.
