2023 Appraisal

My question is does the Vin have any value when trying to sell my vehicle?

Kracka 05-20-2023 06:14 PM

Not unless Rick Hendrick is your buyer. It also won't have zero miles on the odometer.

gbradley07 05-20-2023 07:16 PM

Not would be sweet but it’s not a Z06…..

TBD 05-20-2023 07:33 PM

Will hazard a guess…

…your VIN does not end with 0001 and GUARANTEE your C8 does not have ‘zero miles’ on the odometer as you claim.

🙄

00001 Vin …… you can’t guarantee anything. The mileage is factory miles and never been titled or driven by anyone but testing track miles only.

combatninja 05-20-2023 07:55 PM

Sure. Store it for 40 years and I'm sure that VIN will bring a hefty sum. Nobody cares in 2023.

Vetteman Jack 05-20-2023 11:02 PM

I doubt that your VIN is going to add anything to the value of your car, at least not in the near future - and I have not seen any car that has zero miles on the odometer being sold to the general public. If your car has zero miles, it certainly is a rarity.

gbradley07 05-21-2023 05:29 AM

I incorrectly said it had zero miles and should have said zero ownership miles or something better though out. It’s never been titled and never been on a public road just GM road test miles. My ignorance mistake. And I’m assuming the Vin is only something a buyer would be interested in from a personal perspective that deemed it notorious for only that reason, it’s the first .

@gbradley07 you could settle the whole controversy of the VIN and the mileage by posting some pics of the odometer and the VIN plate.

New here and wasn’t looking for any controversy just a response to a simple question. Does a vin 00001 add any value when selling the vehicle. Don’t realize I needed to take pictures and show proof. Anyway, no problem I get it and I’ll leave.

00001 VIN on a 70th Anniversary Corvette with very few miles will bring in an extra premium to a collector who will not drive the car. It also may bring in a premium to a non collector who will drive the car. However how much of a premium...who knows????

0001 Vin 70th Anniversary coupe is currently up for raffle at the Corvette Museum.

0002 Vin 70th Anniversary HTC was raffled off a couple weeks ago.

Just a FYI if anybody was wondering.

No offense was meant. It’s just that a lot of 0001 VIN’s are auctioned off for charity or put into the GM Heritage Center. I think most people here would like to see what you have. It’s not about proving your word.

The only time the VIN matters, outside of first production of a new model (that gets purchased by Rick Hendrick) is if it's a limited/special edition with special VINs. For example, my Carbon Edition Z06 has a special VIN with each car being numbered. For regular production cars, it won't add any value.
