Can we have a C9 thread?
The first C8 prototype with Holden Ute body parts debuted January 2015 for a 2020 MY car that was supposed to be on sale Q4 '19. Sources are reporting the C9 will be a MY29 vehicle on sale in '28. It will be a revised C8 platform. Wonder when we'll see that break cover? I guess it won't need as much testing if it's a change akin to C5>C6>C7 vs. the C7 > C8 paradigm shift?

I’ve already heard the C9 will have a revamped cockpit that is more passenger friendly.
And the LT6 motor may carry over to the platform as well. And the wise guy that says Mike Furmans C9 list is open. It’s not. I emailed him again a few days ago before that thread was closed. It’s now another year ahead then the last time he told me in Jan 2024. copy and paste his reply below.. I will re start the C9 list January 2025. The best Forum to learn more about the 8th generation Corvette is www.xxxxxxxxxxxx.com

If the C9 Z06 has some version of the LT6 without hybrid assist or turbos… guess I won’t be keeping this C8 Z06 after I finally get my hands on one. We’ll see, I’m not convinced.
I’m all about speculation and love the fun of trying to figure out what’s going on during the development of a Corvette next gen rollout… but I think it’s a bit early to be speculating on anything when there’s no mules that we know of or information to speculate on. |
First on the C11 list at my local dealer. He says no ADM. I will get the list emailed to me in writing the day after tomorrow.

A Tesla competitor?? Add some of performance suspensions/ brakes from the Corvettes? In a lighter pkg then the current Teslas? Or the C9 Eray with more hp DOHC, lighter pkg and plug in hybrid? :willy: |

OMG, C9? Aren't the lists like 5 years long already? The experts will tell you that anybody not on a "list" won't get one of those either.
|
Its's a little early for a C9 list people. But put me on the C9 ZO6 list!
|
Part of me says it doesn’t take 5 years to test an electric motor powered C9, but then again it’s taken Tesla longer than that to release 2nd gen Roadster no?
|
While I'm excited to see where the C9 goes, 99% of what we could discuss would be speculation vice the electrification aspect of it. We all know that the C9 will have at least some variant that will be partially, if not fully electric. Other than that, we can assume that it'll be an evolution in styling with the C8 and not an entire restructure.

GM design posted these sketches on IG. Current rumors/info/chatter is a revised/updated C8 Y2 chassis and some form of ICE. Wonder if it will only be hybrid or if we can still get pure ICE?

I heard from a reliable source that the C14 will be supersonic!

Well yeah... they're design integrations, still fun to see where their brains are. Agree on bottom one being very R8.

It is true that we will already be 5 model years into the C8 pretty soon (I have an old 21')
5 years into the C7 model was 2018 - only 1 year before the C8 was introduced. It's probably time for a C9 speculation forum |
As long as they stick to their word and make it gas powered (with the 6th gen V8 GM is currently developing) that's all I really care about at this point.
