Removing wide-body rear brake vents

I had previously painted my rear brake vent inserts inferno orange to match the car. I never got around to covering them with Xpel so they got pretty chipped up. I decided to revert them back to black so here's a quick how to remove them if you want to paint them or replace them.

tools needed: thin plastic trim removal tool(s). Slide the trim removal tool under the edge of the vent about midway from both the top and the bottom where these little notches snap into these slots. There are two on each side of the vent. Then simply pop the insert out.

Thanks for posting this Jeff! I wish someone made reasonably priced carbon fiber vents for the hood, front fender, and this scoop.

I agree. Stay away from RPI's "Carbon fiber" vents and they are definitely not cf.

That sort of part screams to be 3D printed, but I suspect people want the car weave effect, which 3D printed material wouldn't have..

I bet it did for that application. It's thinner and more flexible.
