Is Harmonic balancer wobbling
 

See attached. Car is stock, just purchased . I’m new c5z owner. Looks like stock harmonic balancer. Car has 70k .

The outer belt sheave is wobbling but the center does not look like it is wobbling. That would mean that the outer sheave has moved a bit in relation to the center. Mark the outer and center radially to see if they are starting to move rotationally in relation to each other. If they are, time to put a good quality damper on.

If not, a close watch needs to be maintained. If the wobble increases or the sheave and center start moving rotationally or the engine starts throwing main accessory belts it will be time for new good quality damper.

Others may have a different view.

Get a NEW Powerbond/ Dayco Dampener and install it. There are TONs of forum vids on doing it. IMHO, I would install a new oil pump, LS2 timing chain, Front cover seal and front cover gasket. Make sure that you install the cover gasket in the correct orientation on the block!

I would also replace the damper with a new one. I have done this job myself and it is not a job for amateurs. Even then it requires patience. But the cost for a shop will be expensive. At the minumum you should replace the front seal. Get a set of manuals for your car and the required tools if you plan to try it yourself. The youtube videos help a lot but watch a bunch of them. They all have a little something to show you. Good Luck.

I will do myself in the garage

1) change H/B
2) replace valve springs
3) replace clutch .

going to give it all when I get back from thanksgiving. I have an amazing forum in case I get stuck .
