How rare are 3 speed C3 Vetts?

I was woundering, just how rare are 3 speed vetts. I don't think I ever saw one. It must be hell trying to find a new shift pattern for the console. Do they even make repo's? I've seen the 4 speed pattern, but never the 3.

Three speeds were only available in C3's for two years. 326 built in '68, 326 more in '69. All were teamed with 300hp engines.

My numbers show that only 252 could have been sold in 1969.

38,762 Corvettes built in 1969
-16,507 M-20 optioned cars
-13,741 M-21 optioned cars
-101 M-22 optioned cars
-8,161 M-40 automatic cars
------------------------------------
252 3-speed cars produced

Well . . .

When I check the numbers given by my copy of "The Corvette Black Book" the math adds up exactly as you show above. 252 three speed manuals for '69.

My original source, an article in the Dec. '92 Vette magazine - "Tracing The Roots Of Three-Speed Corvettes" states " . . . in terms of production, the '69 models matched the '68, with only 326 units produced."

Sooo . . . I don't know what to say without further research.

I have always loved the "three speeders". I thought the numbers known were 424 in '68, 326 in '69. I've seen about 11 '68s and maybe 7 '69s with the three speed. There is a Silver '68 3spd roadster on eBay now for like $16,800 in Michigan. Usually see one or two per year at either Bloomington or Carlisle. About 9yrs ago, an 18K mile White '68 roadster sold less than 2mi from my house-and I never knew it until I caught up with the "new" owner yrs later and he told me exactly where he bought it from!!!

Even this little guy :steering: is a three speeder  Look close, no reverse lockout on the shifter :lolg:

Mine's a 3 speed. The one thing I've never seen in other '79s like mine is a Speedo that goes to 140. All the others only go to 85 that I've ever seen.

My speedo didn't work when I got my Vette. A new speedo housing parts, there on the tranny fixed it right up.
