40hp improvement 93 lt1 corvette, enough to notice? also 2nd stage questions?

Hi I have 93 lt1 corvette [300 hp stock] I'm planning a first stage buildup. All bolt on's, I think about 40 hp improvement. These are all parts I have now but not put on. - headers, high flow cats or delete pipes [have both], cold ram air intake, K&N air filter, air foil for throttlebody, 1:6 roller rockers, Msd opti spark distributer [so I can advance timing slightly], possibly a electric water pump, car had a Borla catback system. I'm looking into rebuilding a used danna 44Hd rearend I bought with 3:55 or 3:49 gears. the biggest thing I worry about is going through all that work and it may not be enough to notice. I'd like to replace the cam and port the heads but am not sure I can do this without taking the motor out. any advice you can give would be helpfull. Thanks

Those mods seem more line 10-15 hp IMO.

That said, I think you'd still feel an improvement. It won't be night and day, but I think you'd feel some seat of the pants improvement.

on my 1993 6spd

Lt1 ported heads (stock valves), hotcam (218/228 .525/.525), 1.6:1 roller rockers, ed wright tune dropped my 1/4 mile time from 13.9 to 13.2. Redline was raised to 6200 rpm.
there was a noticeable SOTP improvement from 3000 rpm up

adding long tube headers and deleting the a/c (no idea how much that helped), and prob improving my drag strip technique got me into the 12’s - 12.8

i didnt notice that improvement as much SOTP-wise but my timeslips showed it

i then had a pcmforless dynotune on their dynojet in ohio (with Alvin there doing the tune) it and it made 355 rwhp / 352ish rwtq on a dynojet

Now supercharged making 600+ on e85
and hopefully soon 800-900+ with new blower

The only thing on your list that is going to help is the headers and 1.6 RR.

You can do cam and heads with engine in the car. But definitely easy on an engine stand as well.

Chumpcar said exactly what I was going to say. I would guess that long-tube headers and cam are good for 15-20hp increase. I'm not sure I'd pay to ahve stock LT1 heads ported these days. AFR makes ready-to-bolt-on heads for a decent price that work well. If you do get the heads ported, you should contact Greg Good out of Houston. He did the heads on my LT4 many moons ago and they matched or exceed AFR 195 Competition heads (exceeded in particular at low valve lifts). Other so-called LT1/4 experts I've seen can't come close to those numbers.

Ill be selling my afr195 comp elim ported heads (w/ 61cc chambers ) AND an LT4 intake soon
(300+cfm heads )

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't sure all of these would help, followed guide that was said to give 30 hp then improved things more. I don't need a super fast car just one that's a better muscle car than it is now. I don't want to kill gas mileage too much or not be able to cruise down the highway I have a lot of parts bought for this car already most of them are used ,some might work some maybe not right for the car. I have a anther set of stock heads to be ported. I also have a copy of the GM 846 cam. a electric water pump but not sure about that on street[ without a spare pump in the car]. I also have a hypertech unit bought for a Impala ss, The car is a automatic and I have no plans to do much to it other than maybe a shift kit later. I think the rearend and stage one parts should be first but It might be easier to do cam and head change all at once if I can find the time and money. is there any posts that tell about changing cam and heads in the car? Thanks

How are planning on getting a programmer for a flash based ECM to work on your Prom based ECM.

Knowing hyper tech products, it should be thrown in the garbage.
