Complete L98 Pullout

Looking for the -complete- pullout. That is, from oil pan to TB, accessories, exhaust manifolds. Don't need ECU. Prefer motors that need to be rebuilt as that's the plan. If in pieces, all the better. Must be roller block.

Going to be replacing the LT4 on my race car to build L98 and reduce points in series I race. Possible we can work a trade (you would be expected to bring cash to table).

Thanks for your offer but don't think that's going to work for me.

Not sure how your rules decipher an L98. If all you want is a 1 piece rear seal roller block your local machine shop will probably just about give one to you. If your willing to make the drive to Washington State I will give you one.

You have a long PM with an alternative.

I have also been looking for one for champ and have been surprised how difficult its been. It seems when people do pull these they can't give them away, yet somehow when we're trying to buy them we can't even find one.

facts. I made a similar post on the C4 LS swap FB page and people were saying how they basically gave theirs away. . .

Now I can't seem to find anything.

I got really strong money for one, pan to intake, without front dress. It was a 1990 Speed Density L98

If you are still looking for a L98, I believe I know where there is a complete 91. Feel free to get back to me.

What is an L98 worth? I've been thinking about LS swapping my car.

For one that's completely worn out, I'm hoping around $500-$750.

supervette64 01-29-2024 02:54 PM

Agreed - $500 on the low end but running - $1000 for a desirable year and in pretty good shape (roller block). I had a guy offer to sell me his for $4500 which is WILD considering I bought an LS3 for less than that.

The hard part for selling is there aren't many people who want one - because why would you buy a 240hp engine these days. Its mostly only people like us who are racing in a series/class that dictate a stock/period correct engine.

While I am here. was the 1996 LT1 long block/ short block, I gave to the scrap man, when we left Cali, the same as the L98?

I don't think the blocks are the same.
