VetteFred, Flips 65 And ChuckG At A Local Car Show

Photo of VetteFred's 65 at a cruise-in in Crystal River Florida last Saturday night.

Along with Fred are Flips 65 (Phillip) and yours truly, Chuck G. That's my red 56 Chevy behind Fred's car.

How about a look at your 56 (210?). Some of us out here love looking at all old Chevy's, and 56's are among my favorites.

It's cheaper than a 210. It's a "Thrifty 150". :)

355 CI block. Wide ratio Muncie 4 speed. 3.70 posi rear.

Vintage Air.

Old school hot rod.

Old school. No PS, No PB.

Very neet car Chuck. It reminds me of my high school days.

Great car Chuck, I love it!

There's nothing wrong with "old school". Like a lot of us on here I grew up playing with what's now considered old school. Heck, I prefer old school, I'm too old and lazy to learn how to learn how to make electronic fuel injection work.

Thanks for posting the pictures.

That's a damned nice hot rod, Chuck. I'd be proud to have it reside in my garage.

Live well,

SJW

Hey Chuck, That was a great get together in Crystal River! Always an eclectic gathering of interesting rods and customs. Your car stands above the many 55 and 56 Chevy that are in attendance. Old school still has a place in my heart......I just love the look of your 56! It was certainly great to meet Phil and to hear his plans for his 65 Vette.

Wish I had taken a few pictures of that wild fifties Buick custom. The owner had chopped, stretched and widened that thing in so many places. Did you get a picture of that Buick?

I like the sedans better than hardtops because they make better looking hot rods. leave the hardtops to the restorers. the minimal chrome looks better also.

Talk about old school I pulled out the 265 in my 56 2 door hard top and had plenty of room for the 348….had a lot of fun with the extra torque and a 4 speed

Went to a small car show yesterday morning. VetteFred and Plasticman were there too, AND that custom Buick that Fred mentioned was there.

Began life as a 47 or 48 Buick 4 door sedan. Now a convertible with a removeable top. 2 door. Stretched, sectioned, etc. It's not painted. It's "natural" steel with clear coat. Amazing amount of work.

Still a work in progress
