2010 GS for sale (is this a good deal?)
 

I looked at it today. The pictures don't really do it justice. Looks REALLY nice in person. The front lip is the only damage on the car and I think could be easily fixed by a shop that does CF work.
My wife and I both like aggressive sounding cars and this one sounds great. I didn't drive it, but took a ride while the owner drove. The go pedal has so much go that I actually got a little pale when he got deep on it. I know I'll get used to it but wow, that supercharger sure does its thing well.
As the title states, does this look like a good deal?
I have a company car to drive while working but this would be my daily driver outside of work hours.
I also looked at a 2019 GS coupe w/glass top that has 59k miles for about 2k more than this car. Of course it's stock so the SC and full aftermarket exhaust make this one much more of a rush.
The 2019 being the last year you can get a manual transmission might make them worth having and hanging on to in the future.
I'm really torn, so looking for opinions from the hive mind.

Personally, I'd take the 2010 Grand Sport because I plan to put in one of those Edelbrock superchargers at some point, and it will cost me at least $10K not including supporting mods (E85 conversion, headers and X-pipe, etc.). That will put me close to $55K that I will have invested into a 2011 Grand Sport convertible with almost 40K miles on it. I've already dumped $10K into it since I bought it a couple of years ago for $38,500 (around $40K once taxes were paid), adding APR carbon fiber aero, paint correction, paint protection, window tint, Grand Sport heritage stripes, etc. So if I could have picked this up with the Edelbrock already installed, I would have done it in a heartbeat.

Well, that, and I can't fit in a C7. :lol:

Cost aside If I had to pick between the two cars, I would choose the 2019 GS for no other reason than the 2010 is 9 years older, has been modified and repainted. Why would a car with 26K for miles need to be repainted?

It was not repainted. It was "paint corrected and ceramic coated". That's a typo in the ad.

C6>C7. Still not and never will be a C7 fan. Don't care for the sharp creases, tighter interior, or tail lights. :hide: C6 is all around a better looking car that will continue to age well, and the supercharger is a bonus if you want it.

I would go for the 2019 GS. Like VetteVinnie said! The 2010 is 9 years older and modified & you don't know how much the guy beat on it!? You have a chance to do to it as you please or not! my 2¢. Good luck!

I would buy the car that put the biggest simle on my face when driving it. Of course that assumes you’ve done all necessary due diligence regarding the modified 2010. I would want to see the invoices for the install on the E-Force and what shop did the install. Hopefully the owner has the original and the modified tune for that engine. If you don’t know modified engines have someone that’s very familar with modified vette engines. I own (bought it new) a 06 that is running the E-Force for the past 12 years and it’s been rock solid. It was installed by one of the better S/C shops on the east coast and yea it was around 10 grand but I also had other things done like a Z06 fuel pump and High Flow radiator installed. I have the dyno sheetss but don’t feel like trying to get them as the car has been put away for the winter. Whatever you decide you’ll love the C6 imo. BTW... if you aren’t experienced dirving a a high performance vehicle I would think about getting some instruction especially if you buy the S/C one. Stomping on the GO PEDAL on a S/C’d vette can make things change very fast with unexpected results sometimes. Good luck with making the right deal for yourself....

Like others have said I would want to see the doc on the build. Just by reading the ad it sounds like the current owner bought the car with the current setup. If this car checks all your boxes then only your opinion matters if it is a good deal.

If all your interested in is aggressive sound you can get that by adding an exhaust to any stock LS without significant mods.

I hate the looks of the C7 so my opinion would be to not even consider it.

I agree with you a 100% on the looks of the C7! Never liked them and always thought they looked very ric** like. For those that like that C7 styling as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

If it has all documentation, I'd buy the '10 with 1/2 the miles. What's up with the wheels/tires though, seem off, especially the rear?

Wow, what a conundrum. About twice the miles, $2k more, nine years newer, no mods, and a different model. You must remember that this is a C6 forum so the responses will favor the C6. Personally, there is no comparison between the two models as the C6 has a more timeless look and the C7 has too much of an origami look. And then, there’s the rear end. If you are good with either body style, then it kinda comes down to mileage and mods. Mods like the C6 has make me very leery unless backed up by significant documentation. Plus, why usually add these types of mods? To go faster. So, has it been abused? The C7 could have been abused even in stock form, yes, but the likelihood is less. Bottom line, you have some really good guys before me offering great, reasoned opinions. Let all of those bounce around in your noggin and follow both your head and your heart. Well, with the exception of the C1, C2, and C4.... I like all the body styles.
I had a 2017 until November when I had a small accident that damaged the frame and totaled the car.
Now I'm in the market for another one and there's so many options that I can't decide.
Tough choices, I know.

45K for a 2010 that has been modded to another persons taste, and with some body damage, even minor? It's a no go for me. Way too much money. Average 2010 GS coupe price is around 29-32 K.

Offer 3 k less for the newer C7 and mod it yourself over time.

The 2010 came with 430 HP from the factory w/o the SC, black out stuff and other gew gaws.

The 2019 comes stock with 460HP. How much kick in the pants do you need? I can absolutely assure you that 3.8 sec 0-60 time will put a smile on your face.

Average price for a stock 2019 GS is 42K. I own a 2012 GS and LOVE IT. But if in your shoes I would choose the C7.

You will be much happier and more proud of your own mods.

You could not pay me to buy a modified car. Even with a no expense spared build list from the highest end shop around.

Right, but the aftermarket CF splitter, while damaged I would not personally consider "body damage". So add another few grand for convertible, then all the CF and the SC, and you're pretty much at 45k.

The price is 50k, they already took 3k off for me to get to $47.

I don't disagree with anything you're saying, and I smiled every day in my C7, but the SC was crazy.
I've got a few others in my sights as well. Just not sure what I'm doing yet.

My friend had a 2019 black GS convertible with all of the options. I loved his car. If I could get another car I would prefer the 2019 ga vert

The tires on the 2010 are all less than 6 months old, He hardly ever drives it.
The 2019 is Long Beach Red. If it was a vert there would be no question.
