Coolant leak from the reservoir?

I’ve been having this coolant from the passenger side. The weird thing is that it drips from the wheel well/fender trims.

I put dye and no leaks were found under the hood not even any of the hoses. Could it be that my reservoirs got a crack in it?

How common do these things crack anyways?

Plastic reservoir cracks on the bottom of the tank are extremely common. I’ve had to replace mine twice.

easy fix. Drain, replace with a new one from rockauto and refill.

Age, as well as hot / cold cycles eventually causes plastic to become brittle and crack. Rubber components (belts and hoses) also deteriorate for the same reasons. This is not unusual for a 20+ year old vehicle.

Common issue. Replace with a new reservoir and cap and consider it a good run for a 20+ year old piece of GM plastic. :yesnod:

When you are just starting out, there is no such thing as a stupid question. That is especially true working at a dealer, where you won't see too many old cars.

I had same thing. It was leaking from the seal on the cap.

Just be sure to order the correct tank for your year — there are two versions with a different level sensor.
