Coolant leak from the reservoir?
I’ve been having this coolant from the passenger side. The weird thing is that it drips from the wheel well/fender trims.
I put dye and no leaks were found under the hood not even any of the hoses. Could it be that my reservoirs got a crack in it? How common do these things crack anyways? |
Plastic reservoir cracks on the bottom of the tank are extremely common. I’ve had to replace mine twice.
easy fix. Drain, replace with a new one from rockauto and refill. |
Age, as well as hot / cold cycles eventually causes plastic to become brittle and crack. Rubber components (belts and hoses) also deteriorate for the same reasons. This is not unusual for a 20+ year old vehicle.
|
Common issue. Replace with a new reservoir and cap and consider it a good run for a 20+ year old piece of GM plastic. :yesnod:

I had same thing. It was leaking from the seal on the cap.

Just be sure to order the correct tank for your year — there are two versions with a different level sensor.
