Lifters

Took engine out and it sat for a year.engine ran great when I pulled it out.put back in and two of the lifters won’t pump up.the number eight cylinder intake and number seven exhaust.our not pumping up.now I am spinning the engine with no plugs.but I am getting sixty pounds of oil pressure.do you think the other ones will pump up when I start the engine.

This is a unprofessional thought. Did you actually run the engine or just spin it over.then discover your problem? Dennis

Lifters

Spun it over several times .maybe total time two or three minutes

Rather than spin the engine, get or make an oil primer shaft and prime it with a high speed drill. You probably will see better oil pressure....

I tried that first.I spun the oil shaft till I burned drill up. None of the lifter would pump on passenger side with drill. When I spun the engine with starter they started to pump.but I have one exhaust lifter on number eight and one on number seven not pumping.

My guess would be to manually lubricate the affected rocker arms and push rods. Reinstall the valve cover then warm up the engine to operating temperature. Perhaps shut down engine several times to re-lubricate rocker arms and push rods. Oil flowing down the push rods will help with a bit of lubricant on the lifters. Engine heat might be enough to get past the oil flow problem.

You need to rotate the engine when using a primer tool to get oil to all lifters

Are you sure your cam isn't flat? They can make that last failure really quickly, and the classic failure is with the rear cylinders.
