New owner, feel in over my head

Picked up my 16’ zo6 with the zo7 package last month. Only got plates about a week ago and been putting miles on it. 1 owner, 24k miles, older guy so while there’s no way to know for certain I don’t believe the car was tracked or driven hard by any means.

my owner other exposure to corvettes was renting c8s. I have loved the c7s too so when I found this in the color combo I wanted we jumped at it. (Was looking at grandsports/stingrays, never anticipated a zo6)

if read some post here about the transmission issues with the A8. Now when I’m cruising around I’m find my myself hyper aware of every shift.

I’ve been reading the forums and it seems like these transmissions change driving styles depending on how you’re driving the car.

does it take a while to just get used to this thing? I’m trying to get a copy of service records for the triple flush.

I love the car, the power is incredible, looks great, but it feels a little bit less refined than the c8s. Is this just how the c7s are/were?

trying to be mindfully that I bought almost a 10 year old used car.

I purchased 2016 Z06 Z07 A8 with 8 miles on the clock on 02-11-2016, 3 years ago I put a Magnuson 2650 on it, The car make 869 whp and now has over +75,000 miles on the clock. I've had ZERO transmission issues and I drive it like I stole it. :D

Each gen Corvette has been more refined than the previous one. That's a good thing for longer drives but the lower NVH on newer cars makes for a less sporty experience IMO.

 definitely makes me feel better! My last “performance” car was a bolt on LT1 Camaro. So needless to say this is a completely different animal

I make no promises, but don't be afraid to drive the car hard. It's all about the smiles per mile not the miles per gallon. :D

Haha I get it! I definitely will not be tracking or doing any wild mods anytime soon. Just want to enjoy it for some worry free miles !

Can’t wait to get mine back from Vengeance in a couple weeks. It’s currently there getting the exact same package as yours with Fore triple so I can run full e85.

Shifts will be less smooth than a C8 but with that said, I had no issues with my C7Z transmission. I would check if it had the triple flush with the latest fluid for piece of mind but otherwise, drive it how you want.

Re: the bolded part

C8 likely is more refined, being a newer generation, but if your 2016 hasn’t had the mag ride re-calibration/update then likely the ride is going to be a little harsh and brutal feeling when you hit any rough or bumpy pavement. If that’s what you mean by “less refined” then its worth looking into whether yours has the update. Here’s a link to a thread with more info:
