New Bus Stop Curbing at WGI
 

Anyone run the course with the new curbing in place? Curious what curbing was used (understand there are options) and for any feedback.

I'll run WGI in a month and get to try it. I t is some kind of metal based portable curbing with different removable elements like orange breadboxes to prevent you from jumping the curbs. I guess different race orgs and cars want or need different curbing. All I know is it can cause problem I never have seen with the standard fixed curb.

I was there monday and tuesday.
It definitely changes your entry.

You can take a pretty good bite and you will clear the "void" easily. I did not try to get to the pyramids (got right to them without going over them) I'll let someone else be the guinea pig.
My understanding is that there are a few different configurations of curb that bolt in depending on the race series.

A touch later turn in, more second curb. Once I got it down it didn't really slow me down much. 02's and :03's for reference.
The chassis is much more composed that the old curbing.

Tangentially, I went for 2 days last year with a group and we were told management wanted us to stay off the curbs. After we all stopped laughing we went and did our thing. I just saw pics of the devices at the bus stop and am going back in July. They don't look like anything I want to mess with.

It looks like you don't want to hit the highest part of the curb. It is very close to the guardrail and could move the car around just enough to hit the guardrail.

Those two pyramids don't look like any fun if your car is lowered.

So I was taking a pretty good bite. Right sides very near the pyramids.
They don't touch back down till the far side. Very smooth and not anywhere near as jolting as the last iteration of curbs.

I have good memories of chasing Bill around the Glen and thru the Bus stop for many years.

Is it me or do the pyramids look almost twice as tall as the inner most curbs and 50-75% taller than the outside curbs? If this is the case, they don't need inner cubs as your left side would be lifted higher than your right going as close to the guardrail as possible potentially jolting you right into it. To my eyes, this arrangement leaves only 2 options, RST up on the outside curbs or the more aggressive choice of RST in between these and the pyramids. In a moderately prepped C6, I ran next to the guardrail all day. Now in a street C7, it looks like I'll be a car width to the left - no bueno!
