HEADLIGHT EXPERTS: Are these what I want?

This isn't really Corvette-related, but I don't know where else to find more knowledgeable car people than here!

I'd like to get brighter headlights on my driver. I don't care about a purple tint or any crap like that, I just want nice looking, BRIGHT lights. I've seen cheap imitation blueish colored lights on cars that seem dimmer than stock lights, and they look TERRIBLE. Does anyone know if these are nice lights or not?

Thanks!
Jerry

search the archives for headlights, the topic pops up now and again, and you should find the info you are looking for.

Just put some on my daily driver,They were syvania blue star I think bulbs are not blue and neither is the light just pure white..paid 20 / pair then got a rebate for 10 for the high and 10 for the low beam,so it came out to 20 for the 4 headlights,Very happy with them

Any of the "over the counter" blue lights are not street legal (non-DOT) and produce less light than normal headlights. Unless you're buying true HID lights, you're paying for useless junk.

If you want brighter lights, purchase a set of normal lights and add a set of driving lights (DOT approved). Or, get an HID conversion (expensive).

My 1969 T3 lights are plenty bright.

Sylvania has "Xenarc High Intensity Discharge Upgrade Kit" that fits Corvettes. I dunno, might want to look into it.

I have ancient GE halogen sealed beams in my Vette. I thought they were terrible...until I started adjusting them. Now they're fantastic!

I think Page62 hit the nail on the head :smash:

Most of our headlights definitely need adjusting. My halogens put out much better light and after adjusting it makes a world of difference.

No lighting problems with my '79. I've got the good old sealed beam halogens, plenty of light. The high beams are intense, too!
