'77 Fan runs when ignition is off?
Folks,
I am finally making progress again. I think. I have the new wiring harness in and everything but the fan and the interior lights seem to be working fine. I don't have the car enough together to try starting it. Anyways, to my question. Currently if I connect the battery the fan runs right off the bat. If I turn the ignition on it stops. :-) I know I got the wiring reversed some where but I am not sure where. This is a new wiring harness so I would guess it is some where in the AC harness itself. Just thought I would check in and see if there were any ideas. If not, tomorrow, I study the wiring diagram. Hope y'all are having a good night!! Tim M. |

Yeah, you've got something backwards. The blower motor is always on when the ignition is on.

Now to just find it. :D I am guessing that it is some where in either the relay or the speed adjustor (resistor ??). The other option is I some how screwed stuff up w/ patching my stereo in. That is easy to eliminate though. I will just unhook my stereo...

Sounds like relay problem.
You probably used a opening contact instead of a closing one. Good luck Gunther |
