A buddy of mine has been crowing about a 2lane up by Glennie that I should check out. Defininatly have to get away from Detroit to find a good road that wont beat you to death with our suspensions. :steering:

The Around the Lake path is fantastic on the eastern shoreline of Lake Michigan.

Hwy 119, Harbor Springs to Cross Village is excellent!

The Lake Superior circle tour sounds great, but I think you are talking about 2000 miles for the full loop. Maybe a weekend jaunt to the Petosky area?

I am down for a cruise anywhere, but I do think that taking like 4 or 5 days and doing the Lake Superior thing would be great, I have a buddy who did it in 3 days on a motorcycle so I know it could be done in a long weekend. Once the weather breaks I'll get some more info and post it again and see if there is any interest

I'm particularly fond of a couple key stretches:
I-75 from River Rouge to Taylor.
I-94 from I-75 to Detroit Metro Airport. :cuss

There's a good stretch out by Hell somewhere, I think ddecart can chime in on that.

:iagree: State Hwy. 31 north of Muskegon - beautiful, straight and long! :D

The problem with Michigan is that the most scenic roads are unpaved. I regularly drive the back roads between Howell and Chelsea and manage to stay on pavement the whole way. Lots of trees and lakes, plus when returning on North Territorial, you can get a glimpse of the U of M radio telescope.

Route 12 starting in Chesterton,IN to St. Joseph, MI, then north on the Red Arrow. Two lanes, twisty, beautiful, and small town America

Yup 119 is it, woods on one side and a 200' cliff down to lake Michigan on the other. Turns so tight that 45 is as fast as I can go on the street bike, have not tried the Vette yet, maybe this year.. :seeya

There are lots of good roads out by Hell. There are several lakes out in that area, and with lakes come twisty roads. Not very populated out there, either so there are plenty of trees & scenery and little traffic. We did a color tour last fall that went from North Territorial & US 23, through Hell, out to Dansville and back up to Webberville. Nice drive.

Yup. We definitely have to do that again. But before then, we might need to make another spring run to Hooters like we did last year. :yesnod:
