do Zr1's or any C4s have traction control?
Ok I dont know much about options and things so here my question. Do the ZR1's come with traction control or anything similiar?
I was wondering if they come standard with traction control or anything similiar. I was considering purchasing one and was not sure about this. Anyway thanks for any help in advance. Rob [Modified by Robs98Z28, 10:45 PM 3/8/2003] |

Well, I know for a fact that the 1992 and up LT-1 and LT-4 cars have ASR (acceleration slip regulation) or traction control, but my 1991 ZR-1 doesn't have it. Someone else will have to fill in the info for the 1992-1995 ZR-1's.

Yes, and if you don't use it you can go thru tires in a hurry!

Early Dodge Vipers are well known for not having these and are known therefore as extremely dangerous. I put a 4:11 gear ratio on my ‘91 ZR-1 (a relatively inexpensive and easy modification). I would argue that it is considerably more dangerous than a Viper now. I feel that more people should know this. You have to be extrenely careful with that car. I am an experienced driver of fast cars. I have literally never had a car do what the ZR-1 just decides to do on a whim. No traction control and more torque than horsepower can put you literally sideways at 50mph if you downshift and hammer down while switching lanes. I was really shocked and I’m very, very lucky to be alive. I love the car. I recommend it to anyone as an inexpensive sleeper supercar, but just when you think you know... you have no idea. That lack of traction control is something series. I turn off my traction control in my 2017 540i every time I get in, but even turning it off leaves something on and it self corrects. The ZR-1 has literally nothing. The ‘91 ZR-1 will kill you if you do not respect it. |
No ASR on 90-91 ZR-1, but they all have ABS

The ‘91 ZR-1 will kill you if you do not respect it. Any car will kill you if you don't respect it. I'd recommend taking your ZR-1 to some SCCA auto-x and HPDE's/track days. It helps. Auto-x especially b/c you can learn the car's limits and behaviors w/virtually zero consequences. |

Incorrect. ALL 90 - 93 Corvettes came with a drivers side air bag as standard equipment. All 94-96 Corvettes had BOTH a driver side and a passenger side airbag. A 1991 Corvette owner would have KNOWN this... GC
