If you swith the rear tires to 315, do you need to switch the rear bar too?

I know that the GS and ZR1 came with 26mm rear sway bars. I also know that the other suspension options (even z07 & z51) came with a 24mm bar only (what I have - z51). I assume that its because of the 315s. Is it recommended that I use a 26mm rear bar if I switch to 315s? Otherwise, why did GM use the 26mm bar? What are pros - cons? Thanks, just trying to learn. :chevy

I know the larger bar on the Grandsport coupes was in fact because of the larger tires to help combat understeer.

I have been running 315's for over a year never heard of changing out the sway bar? I have thought about doing it for better control but not because I changed tire size.
