In the state of Maine you get 7 characters, but I only took 2--C4. It's been about 4 weeks, and I still don't have them. I guess the inmates are busy this time of year! :D

Re: Vanity License Plates (sofine89)

Re: Vanity License Plates (sofine89)
In ID it is an extra $25 a year for the letters, then if you want the special Corvette plate(has C-5 logo in the plate and says CORVETTE across the bottom) that is another $15. The down side is with the Corvette plate you only get 5 letters, a standard vanity plate you get 7 with a half space. So
old plate ZR-1= ZR1 4FUN Corvette plate= ZR FUN I almost got "KYS ON" but the girl at the DMV thought it meant "KISS ON" instead of "KEYS ON" On the Open Road Race car it is Corvette plate "OR RCR". I just ordered them so no pics yet. |
Re: Vanity License Plates (Jeffyvette)
 Don't remember how long mine took. I've had the plate for about 14 years.

Re: Vanity License Plates (sofine89)
In New Hampshire, it costs an extra $25.00 per year for vanity plates. I just ordered mine last week, and expect them this week. They can tell you right on the spot if the plate you want is taken or not.
I wanted MSBHAVN, but it was taken, so I settled for MISBAVN. :seeya |

In 2000 when we moved down here, I got OUR RUBY in less than 30 days. Just ordered OUR MY for our new 03 and they said 3 months Must be the caliber of prisoners down here is getting worse or they now have a union and can do only so many plates a day :lolg:

Re: Vanity License Plates
I hope nobody from NY steals this from me. When I get the car im my name, I'm gonna get vanity plates from the start. I have a few variations if either of these is taken, but please do not steal them if you're in NY! BTW, in NY, we used to have 6 letters standard, but now it's 7, but I think you can get more on there if you want to. I think it's $40+ some other stupid fees.

Re: Vanity License Plates (sofine89)
You guys are lucky. Vanity plates ONLY come out in December in KY. I ordered mine in June when I bought the car and had to wait. On top of that you have to go down to pick them up and they do not tell you when they come in. I waited until January to get them. :mad

Re: Vanity License Plates (sofine89)
SOFINE89, I see you are from Illinois, Why is it, everyone in Illinios has a vanity plate? :jester I was born in Jacksonville, I moved to a small town in Indiana called Goodland, I don't know if you have heard of it. It is about an hour or so from you, near Watseka. Anyway I just wanted to say congrats on the plates, now you won't be the only one in Illinois that doesn't have them. :lolg:

Re: Vanity License Plates (86VETTEMAN)
It took about 6 weeks for my plates to arrive in California.
They are on commemorative American Flag background and read A DAZY Wife's idea from the movie Tombstone. Doc Holliday after out drawing Ringo, "You aint no daisey. You aint no daisey a'tall." |
Re: Vanity License Plates (sofine89)
"WIPLASH" - Can't believe I actually got it in VA where every one has vanity plates. |

In Massachusetts it's a 6 character limit and cost $70 a year. Can't remember how long it took to get it. I've had RDSTR for about 20+ years.

Re: Vanity License Plates (Mikesa)
IN INDIANA
The cost for reserving a Personalized License Plate is $48 annually, payable at the time of your reservation, in addition to the normal registration fees. PLPs are available on a standard passenger plate background or on a special recognition license plate background. Takes @ 4 months DAY2DAY |
Re: Vanity License Plates (sofine89)
Mine read:
QWXILVR (It's a silver CE) They took about 2 weks to arrive (in VA). Later, David |
Re: Vanity License Plates (sofine89)
I had "OOH BABY" for many years on many different cars, then I felt it too cheesy for my changing tastes and haven't had a vanity plate in years,
I'm thinking about "BOO BABY" if you seen me you would know why.... :lolg: |

Re: Vanity License Plates (R94 LT 1)
It's supposed to be $40 in Ohio, but I swear every time I renew my plates, it's a different amount. I think they just make up a number when I walk in. It never resembles anything they have posted on the wall.
I originally got mine in two weeks, got the rear one stolen, and it took a month and a half to get a replacement. DVAST8R |
Re: Vanity License Plates (SixpackFL)
"WIPLASH" - Can't believe I actually got it in VA where every one has vanity plates. So to me personally they lost my charm.....I have plain old VA plates on all 4 of my cars. When every ricer has every combination of XLR8N, UNVME, 1FASTYPR, etc they lose their charm. |
Re: Vanity License Plates (Bodhi)
Mine is HK BJ 400 we cant get any of those cool plates over here. But as soon as i get home i am going to get me a set.
