LT-1 (92) engine front cover seals?

The manual doesn't call for anything, but do you use a sealer/gasket sealer/ RTV/etc, on the oil seals when installing them in the cover? How about the cover gaskets, do you use anything or just install dry?

I guess we just lubricate them a little and press them in.

I don't know about the cover gasket, but the opti and waterpump seals just press in. Just did that this weekend.

Go to your GM dealer and get some of the grey sealant they have. Great stuff but expensive ($12). Put it on both sides of the front cover gasket. No leaks!

That's exactly what I'm going to do. The LT-1 guru there says that's what they do. Expensive stuff! It's the same stuff you need at the corners of the oil pan.

Thanks
