Rims?
I've been thinking about getting new rims, but while I like the TT2s, they seem to be getting common. I was wondering if anyone had tried putting C5 rims on a C3. I'm just wondering if they will fit since I haven't seen ANYONE with them.
thanks for the advice in advance |
Re: Rims? (C3at16)
Theres a few on here with c4 rims and i think a few with c5 rims youll need adapters to fit them from vette brake products.

Re: Rims? (C3at16)
where might I be able to find the adaptors on-line?

For the amount of money you will spend on the adapters, you can pay a big chunck of what it will cost you for nice custom wheels.

Re: Rims? (79VetteMike)
Unless of course, if you got a great deal on the C4/5 wheels and tires like I did.....I got my 4 ZR1 wheels with tires for $150. Including the $300 for the adaptors, my whole setup costed me $450 :D

Zack Wenning I would love to see pictures. If you can't post any send them to my email address in my profile and I will post them for you.
I can get the rims but wonder about how they look. |
Re: Rims? (norvalwilhelm)
Norval, you may look at my site too, as the '92 sawblade rims are allmost as wide...in front anyway...9.5-17 all around....

Re: Rims? (mrvette)
Just visited your site and the wheels seem to fit nicely. What size spacers/wheel adaptors did you use?
What is the back spacing of your rims? |
Re: Rims? (C3at16)
You can purchase Ronal C5 rims with custom back spacing to fit a C3. You can view the wheels at http://www.ronalusa.com -- Talk to Gary Allison he is a general manager and responsible for national sales - his phone number is 714-891-4853. The wheels will run around 550 to 800 each depending upon the style (color/amount of chrome) that you select.

Re: Rims? (norvalwilhelm)
I used 2.5 inch wheel adaptors from vette brakes. The wheels have something like a 6 inch backspacing if I remember correctly, to make sure I would check and see what a 93 Z28 requires, because that is what the wheels came off of and they were used without a spacer.
I tried to email you some other pics, but I was having problems sending it to you...it said there was a router failure or something. The wheels fit the car much better now that I have lowered the front and painted the calipers. Let me know if you have any other questions. I will try to get some more pics of the wheels and the car next weekend, it would be great if someone could post them for me :D [Modified by Zack Wenning, 11:43 PM 9/1/2003] |

Re: Rims? (C3at16)
I agree TT2 wheels are a dime a dozen but IMO they look great on C3 vettes. You may want to consider Boyd Coddington wheels, they have some killer designes and Discount Tire has them for very reasonable prices...I almost went with the "Smoothie" wheels for ~$200 each.

Re: Rims? (norvalwilhelm)
Norval, my wheels are fitted with 2.5 inch adaptors all around....I did limit the steering radius in front by building out the snubber on the lower a-arms about 3/4 inch or so....keeps tires off the frame/sway bar...still has a tighter radius than a C4, so I can't complain too much....

Cnterline makes some dayum fine, light rims. Gotta limit that unsprung weight whenever possible....
