Tires on your Vette?

What type brand of tires are on your Vette; Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3; BF Goodrich g-Force T/A; or Michelin Pilot Sports? Got a goof price of A-molds; 9.5 fronts 11 rears and I have to put on new tires. Comments would be helpful.

G-Force TAs they ride nice, but look crappy and handle even worse. Check out my website (sig) for some pics

I have Firestone Firehawks on mine. I did a lot of research before spending the $. They are quiet, have a smooth ride, and grip the road like there's no tomorrow. If I had to, I would do it all over again.

Most people will recommend Kumhos....great tire for the money. I have BF Goodrich G-Force KDWS and like them. I have tried the Firehawk SZ50's and they are also a good tire. The absolute worst tires I have ever had were crappy General's that were on my Vette when I bought it. They belong on a lawnmower instead of a Vette.

Firehawks on mine, I like them, haven't tried any other brands so I can't make a comparison.

Kuhmo's 712's- ride good, hold on in the wet and dry, inexpensive, seem to wear well although I only have 8,000 miles and 1 autox. Will by them again for the Vette and lookin to check them out for the 4WD Suburban.

Goodyear Eagle F1-GS-D3s.

Excellent tire. Exceptional on wet roads. I've been very impressed with them over the GS-Cs they replaced. And they are very quiet.

Last weekend was the first long run on them about 250 mile trip different types of roads and I really noticed the quietness of them at all speed ranges. When driving in moderate rain, with the other Goodyears that I've had you can feel them dragging a little from pushing so much water. That was something I noticed right away with these F1s, I felt no resistance to water on the road (and we get some pretty good down pours here in fla.) I just checked and I have just over a 1000 miles on them now. So far I give the two thumbs up

Here's a link to a road test article on them, if you like (from CAC).

I bought the Goodyear F1 for the front based on the tire test results posted on the Forum. I still have old Goodyear GTs on the back so I do not get the full benefit but I can tell the difference and agree with 93 jet jockey that they are a good tire though I found them expensive in comparison to what I normally pay for tires.

:iagree:

However, the SZ50 EPs don't come in the 315 size needed for his 11" rear rims.

I'm running Dunlop SP8000's on my 11" rears. I just got them so I can't speak to the wear, but man did the ride quality increase over my old GSC's.

I just got 9.5 and 11" rims myself...I ended up getting Sumitomo's from Tire Rack..275's for the front and 315's for the rear...cost me $585.00 total including delivery...they've been on 3 weeks now and are just fine... :D

Though I have only received them, I have heard nothing but good things about these... Hopefully they'll live up to what I've heard. They're a set of Yokohama AVS tires. 315/35-17's on the rear.

They sure look great, hopefully they're perform as well.....

"AA" traction control and "A" temperature... uh, only 180 on treadwear...cough, hack, hack...lol.

A little over 1K from the tire rack.

As wide as they are (13"), they're at least 6" narrower than what's on my S10..lol.

I've got Bridgestone Potenza's 11's both front and back. My only gripe is you can't really hear them when you're losing traction. I kinda like that warning before I actually do.

I use Pilot Sport AS....AA-Traction, AA-Temperature, 400 treadwear. Excellent to say the least...very long lasting also.
