Whats the best tranny fluid 700R4 To use?
 

Like the B&M, or what my trans was rebuilt 20k miles ago.
Am using an after market kooler, along with A Dearl Pan, 1 1/2 more quarts of fluid. Dearl Pan from Jegs.
Please lwt me know.

Well you can ,
A) stick with clean ATF recommended fluid, and change intervals

or,

B) get verybit of fluid you can outta it, and run stright B&M Trick Shift. I ran this stuff for 4 years in my 700r4 '83 Z28 450HP street daily, and it was a happy tranny!!! :D

C) Listen to all these yuppies, and buy 10$ a qt synthetic,ultra slick, BS tranny fluid that offers little signifigance....

Thats my 2 cents , but i speak from experiance.

In the 4L60e, use fords Dectron V thing.
I know a GM test engineer personally, his job is to blow up transmissions for durrability tests. Fords fluid lasts the longest. Synthetic is a terrible choice for the 4l60E, it can actually decrease life.

add a big cooler and call it good :thumb:

i run valvoline synethetic ATF in my 700R4. runs good and shifts hard! :)

I swapped the stock fluid out at 24,000 mls. for Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. It made the shifts a lot smoother than with the stock fluid.
After all what I read I would probably buy genuine GM ATF Dexron III ($2.60/qt. here at my dealer) and change it every 20,000 miles.

any dextron III
the cheaper the better, this way you can change it more often
I use valvoline but not the synthetic.
rather than spending 2 or 3 times as much on synthetic, you are better off changing it 2 or 3 times more often.
because no matter what brand it is, once it is burnt, its junk.
