deadly fumes!!!

Okay guys, you've helped me, as a second year vette owner, with numerous problems, and I thank you. However, I'm gettting into the grittier stuff to get ready for the upcoming season.(Is it me, or is winter extremely long this year?? I don't remember winter lasting this long when I was driving my Blazer!!!) My C-4 has an extremely strong exhaust fume odor. When I sit idling, which isn't often, the smell is overpowering. Not inside the compartment, but if I leave it idling to work on something, my clothes smell like exhaust fumes within minutes...Any suggestions on what to check?? If this was a car I had back in the day, I would say the fuel mixture is to rich.......Help!!!!!! :steering:

While mine was on a lift last week we noticed that the front Y connection to the headers was loose. You might also check for leaks at the cat and holes in the pipes.

To see if it's going into closed loop mode, use the ECM's Field Test mode, described on my site. If not, suspect either the O2 sensor or the coolant temp sensor.

Take it in and have hooked up to a computer could be 02 sensors.
Contray to popular belief guess work wont do it.
